Gorgeous place Alyssa! Did you need to have your guest list set before you chose the spot? I.E. what if more people want to come than they have rooms for, is it just the first to book get to stay there and the overflow has to stay somewhere else? (like if I show up where will I stay? haha j/k)

Just curious how that works when the resort is small, I think it's awesome that you will have the whole place to yourselves, too cool!

Jamy - you are so funny! if you and Will just happen to be in Molokai let me know and we will make room!!!

as for the lodge, they have 22 rooms and can accomodate from 42 to 50 people, most of the rooms have 2 king size beds, etc.

we never thought we would have more than 30 or 35 total so we went for it. if by some crazy chance, we had more - there are a couple other accomodation options...

The Beach Village (eco tentalow camp that is part of the lodge)

Hotel Molokai (one of the contestants from Top Chef a couple of seasons ago just signed on to come here and be the Executive Chef)

and a lot of private home / villa rentals.

ideally we wanted everyone to stay together at the lodge for the experience and sense of commuity and we are at 38 people so we are good!

A-ha, that makes sense. Hopefully you'll have just the right amount of guests so everyone can stay together, what fun!

Oh, and nobody just happens to be on Molokai...if we showed up out of the blue we would be intentionally stalking you and you'd be within your rights to call the authorities...ROFL!!

Hi Alyssa,

I just looked at the pictures of the Lodge. Your wedding is going to be so beautiful. We were originally going to have the same photographers--Mark and Gwyne. Unfortunately they changed dates and we are going to be in Hawaii for our legal wedding after the Labor Day weekend. So we had to change photographers. We are getting married in Oahu. So excited for you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
