I HATE FI's family right now!

Recommended Posts

That blows. Please don't let this ruin your thoughts about your wedding though. It's your day and you will be marrying the man of your dreams. If they miss out on sharing your day - their loss. You WILL have a magical time without them. As you are dancing the night away you will not think about them once - trust me.

And get your f'n $$ back - they owe you!

I would not be shy about making that crystal clear.

Have you reminded them that they still owe a deposit unless someone else decides to go in their place? I would make it VERY clear that you are not shelling out that kind of money as a gift to their lazy, inconsiderate ways.

Christa said it best. Either you come and pay for yourself or at every function we will be looking for our money
Well said ladies! If the $ can't be transferred to you and your FI, then they defitenly owe you, especially since they knew you were putting the deposit down to begin with. Someone needs to tell them to RTFM.gif on how things work, b/c that is not cool!

Hope you're feeling better today smile03.gif

Just enjoy your wedding, no matter who is there. If they do not want to come or cannot come, that is their problem, not yours. Enjoy it.

It sounds like you will have way more fun without all their drama anyway.

I'm so sorry. And we all sympathize and empathize. I know it's just a matter of time before someone important to me backs out. And I haven't even sent the STDs out yet.

But keep your spirits up, don't let the money issue be a factor in your relationship with FI. (Yes, I think he should demand that his family repay the deposits, but don't let that be an issue between you.)

Big hugs!!

Thanks for all of the support and words of encouragement, Ladies!

I think that was just my first (and hopefully) last break-down.

One thing I'm sure we have all learned is that this is just part of a DW. You really learn about people's character!

To the Newbies, don't worry! Go on and plan the wedding of your dreams and do what will mean the most to you and FI.

If and when some family member or friend acts like a butt-head, BDW is here for support!

Thanks again! Erin

Sorry to hear about this, it really sucks. I don't know if this is possible but could you talk to your TA about selling off those tickets? perhaps you locked in at a good rate and someone would be willing to pay you back the deposit and pay off the rest of the ticket?!

    • You can hire a graphic designer on Fiverr to create the wedding cards then just print them yourself. Another option so you can save money is to create the card how you want it on Canva and have them printed at a printing shop.
    • My wedding is coming soon, and I would like to know where I can find best wedding cards at affordable prices. I only find one store known as Lavenderpaperie.com where the cards are lovely and unique, But I want to know the other option name so that I can choose best wedding card. Please, if you have any suggestion on where to go, let me know. Thanks & Regards,

    • Hi Brides! I have a Wally Bag - 66" available - $90 + shipping (US only) The wally bag typically sells for $120-$180. I used this gown bag once to transport my dress from MN to Mexico for our wedding - IT WAS PERFECT!   I was actually able to pack 4 additional maxi dresses, and my husband's wedding attire, plus a few pairs of shoes and some jewelry. I packed the dress the night before we left, and just moments before we left, I zipped the bag and folded it - ready for travel. It comes up with a nice over-the-shoulder strap, making it really easy to carry through the airports. No issues on Delta with the bag as my carry-on - I chose to put in the overhead bin, but the flight attendant did offer to hang it in the closet for me. Once we got to the resort, about 10 hours after I first folded the bag, I unpacked the bag and my dress was perfect - no wrinkles! My dress was mostly lace and had a bit of a train, but it arrived perfectly!  Honestly, this is the best way to travel with your dress!
