Aloha! New bride!

Hello,

My name is Katy and my girlfriend Pam and I are getting married in Oahu, Hawaii on April 8th. About 12 guests will be joining us.

We will be staying in a beach front vacation rental on the North Shore, with a few other couples. When we return home to CA after our 9 day trip we will be having a reception on April 19th at this great sports club/Hawaii themed venue called City Beach. We think about 65 guests will be joining us for the reception. We're having awful luck with people RSVPing, it's so annoying!!

We are so excited but SO stressed out and trying to find the cheapest options available for all those last details. Nobody mentioned that when you're planning a wedding you still have to pay your normal bills! I was kinda hoping those would just go away for a while...lol.

I wish I had found this website months ago! :)

Hello! Wow this forum is busy!

We still have HUGE ticket items on our list, including paying off the remainder that is due for the vacation rental house. Waiting for guests to send us their portion, and freaking out that we don't have the money to cover it if they take too long!

Also, we still haven't put one penny towards booking our reception! That has to be unheard of, I mean, invites have already been sent out!! Luckily we do have the cash to put down a deposit, we just need to call and do that over the phone tomorrow. And our coordinator has been great so we know we are safe. We are bringing our own champagne to the CA reception, and need to decide on that.

We haven't figured out our welcome bags or favors, or ordered our cake for the Hawaii reception. And we still need to type up and send out information newsletters, and buy this great Message In A Bottle kit. We are sending those to the confirmed Hawaii guests. There is still money owed for the ceremony package, which includes the photos and video and all that, and we want to buy sand ceremony vases, and we haven't even looked into getting our dresses altered!

Booking a rental car, figuring out how to make our own simple boquets, and planning out a menu for my parents to cook for the reception are also on the list of things to do.

Oh. And rings. What the heck are we going to do about rings?! When we got engaged we exchanged small simple three stone rings. We have no idea what to buy for our actual bands. But we're thinking it's the least of our worries...wouldn't that be hilarious/awful if the ceremony started and we got to the ring part and realized we never bought any. smile105.gif

I just can't believe how quickly time is flying by...Even writing all that down was stressful! lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
