I just used this company for may wedding May 7th, 2012. DO NOT use this company, they are worthless, and not only that they cost me and my guests hundreds of dollars due to their mistakes and poor information.  This is the review I posted in the review section of this site:

From the very beginning we had nothing but trouble with this company. They refused to listen to what we wanted and continuously tried to convince us to go to Mexico, despite our very clear opposition to the location. They made countless booking errors, cost us hundreds of dollars in irreparable damages to both our wedding and our guests due to mistakes in booking and countless errors in information. (They booked several of our guests for the wrong dates and then refused to answer calls and emails requesting they fix it.) Every time we couldn't do something we wanted to for our wedding (specific flowers etc) they said "you should have gone to mexico, they would have done it" But when we got to our hotel the people there were shocked we were told we couldn't have everything we asked for, and quickly allowed us to customize our wedding.

and the icing on the cake? all the monitary gifts our guests sent us through their website for our "Honeymoon Registry" was taxed a 10% handling fee, and get this 2 days before the end of our honeymoon  (after 5 emails asking for a response) we were finally told that we wouldn't get the money at the resort but that it was being mailed to our home, - 2 weeks after our wedding!  Despite the fact that it had been purchased 2 weeks before we got married. This is of course after being told countless times before our wedding that we could use the money any way we wanted to at the resort on our honeymoon.

This is the worst company I have ever worked with.  You can never get them to call you back and they never answer emails. Every single one of my guests had complaints and problems with my travel agent Brittany Schiffler and complaining to the "customer service agent" Amber Hughes did absolutely no good. The information they provide about fees and rooms and wedding packages never stays consistent.

RUN don't walk to another agency!! Save your $50 (you get what you pay for!!)  -it will end up costing you way more money and tons of heartache. Seriously search the web and you will find the horror stories that I missed before I put my wedding into these horrible hands!

My review is not even the worst I have read. This is a horrible fraudulent company, and I promise you can do better with anyone else.

Seems to be everyone on here has more complaints than thrill for DW! I firmly AGREE 100%, I feel their business has become so corporate, they forget the reason they're doing their job. We were working with DW.com and another agency. DW never responded in a timely manner, and always seemed to not answer my questions. When she kept recommending a certain chain of hotels in Mexico I found out it was b/c the were partners with them and obviously they get More $$ for booking. BUT, when we requested some rates to see how great their offer was it was HIGHER than the free agent!!! I was appalled how slow their response was and how we had so many hurdles trying to find the right place and our agent just kept ignoring it and recommending other places to us. I don't know what I'd do without her!! She helped us to find the very best location and date, we were down to one date that was available, and we had to take it knowing it was only a symbolic ceremony. She called back two days later and got another date that was PERFECT for us. She's attentive and answers within MINUTES of me emailing her- and no matter how many emails we send back and forth she always projects enthusiasm and happiness for our big day- a big difference from DW. Not on bit of emotion in any communication we had with DW. I felt it was so impersonal and when I stopped replying to DW before I had a chance to explain we'd like to end this relationship, the rep left me a voice mail saying "just want to remind you I have 23 years of experience and I'm a great listener" I'm sorry, I don't care how much experience you have, because you weren't even worth the $50 deposit! I don't even think they refunded our money, but honestly I'm so fed up with them I'm glad we parted ways. Listen to the other ladies above as well as myself, don't go with DW it will give you an even bigger headache than you may have already from stress of planning.

I too am having issues with DW. My TA is Ashley and she seems super nice and very easy to talk to but my god, slow to respond! To emails and phone calls. And not just me but all of my guests too. Having said that, this so far, is my only big complaint. I do hope that nothing huge happens to make my experience with them worse! I am a little concerned that with her being so slow that she won't get our travel documents sorted in time! And how does that work anyway? Do they email your tickets to you for the flight? Might as well ask on here as I will probably get a response quicker!!

michelleosokin... BEWARE!!  I too worked with Ashley for my wedding and it was a nightmare!  She was soo friendly HOWEVER, after I booked, she continued to be nice but was slow at everything!  You will soon  see that things will not make sense and things were not explained.  My guests complained that she did not get back even when they wanted to book!  I told Ashley my concerns when were quite a few and her response was that she had no idea what I was concerned about.  After asking questions about how long usually it takes to get back to people and so on she replied with "well now that I know your expectations we can move on"  UMMM WTF!  Me being a Customer Service Lead, I was appalled that she didn't even know that keeping peopled posted and communicating with people was a new expectation!   Don't let her lie to you because she did many times with me.  When she said she would get something done, she wouldn't and then would lie.  Even their head office says she is slow because they gave her a lot of work.  OMG I can go on and on.  I am still in the middle of this battle but all they want to offer me is another agent but if they said at head office that she was the best then who in the world are they going to give me?  So far I have lost a lot of money because of her lack of service!

Be VERY careful!  MY advise would be... RUN while you can!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
