Hey Girls,

I just started obagi w/ IPL and microderms and it has been really great and has helped me get rid of alot of skin discoloration i had...i am trying to reverse all the bad sun damage i had befre my wedding...

here are some before/afters i pulled from this skinare forum...it is another alternative to lasers and photrejuvination and is just using topical lotions sometimes in conjuction with microderms. it is kinda rough the first 2 weeks but gets alot easier...they say most treatments take 6-8weeks or longer...i am on week 3.

Chronic picker

This lady is a major picker. She is being treated for OCD for this habit and was left with terrible scars. This is after one VBeam and 2 weeks on Obagi Nu-Derm.

Hi Kashmira,

i went through this really rough, hormonal period where i broke out like a 13 year old teen...horrible, gigantic zits...some were the size of golfballs...i even had to have this giant cyst surgically removed. i looked like such a freak (i also, had braces)...i was a monster...

there was nothing i could do because it was hormonal...it was so hard because i always had perfect skin...once my skin stopped breaking out, it left horrible acne scars...i couldn't even cover them with makeup. when i got engaged i knew i did not want these ugly wedding pics so i started working on my skin...

obagi was a lifesaver.

I'm so excited to see your Obagi results. I had always had moderately bad skin that I treated for a while, then frankly got lazy and just lived with the fact that I'm gonna have one or two zits all the time. I have an appt with the derm doc next week and we talked about doing Obagi/Laser or some sort of combo to get rid of my scarring. I'm so excited! I guess I used to feel kbad about spending that kind of $$ on myself, but now that the wedding is coming I have an excuse!

sarah, i am an obagi/laser expert...so if you have any questions, ask me...i did soooo much research before i did it and felt bad about the money but once i started planning the wedding realized i did not want pics where my skin looked bad...

i am so happy with the results...

i did:

6 sessions IPL

6 session of microderms

obagi/retin a during the whole process above BUT would stop using for a couple days before and after each procedure.

also, i used anthelios extreme fluid sunscreen (usually only sold in europe, do NOT buy the canadian stuff because it does not have mexoryl in it so not as goo, but i have a good course if you want) with skinceutical c & e feurilic so i did not get more sun damage while my skin was hyper-sensitive to sun.

Thanks Tammy

Hopefully after my appointment I'll have a better idea of what I'm getting into and I'm sure I'll have questions. I'm just worried about looking so horrible while I'm going through the treatments. I have a week off of work every three weeks, so I'm hoping to try to time it so I'm off during the worst. Do you think that's possible?

the first 2 weeks were REALLY rough...i looked like a monster...no exageration...i was so sensitive about it but steve was always super positive and told me i looked fine even though i knew i didn't.

on those days, i stayed home...the first week you will be really red, then week 2-3 you will be peely so pick which would be worse for you.

by 2nd week i didnt even care i looked funny. i told people from the get go: excuse my appearance, i am doing an intense skin care regiment...this satisfied alot of people so they didnt ask ?? or look at me weird...they all understood.

Hmmm, maybe I'll take a couple of extra days off! I work at the hospital, so I have to be out in public and see lots of people. I guess I just need to get over it, get it done with and then I'll look so much better in the end. I just have to decide: peely or red- which is worse! mad2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
