NY, NJ, CT, MA, PA, Etc. meetup anyone?

I'm bumping this, we don't seem to have many of us going to this, can we have a count. My husband wants to know if it is worth the 9 hour trip and a day off work to come? Would more people attend if it were a different weekend?

We definitely would come if it were a different weekend later on in the summer. It's just too soon after settlement on the new house for us!

Later in the summer would be better for me (except for August 10th-17th... trip to Myrtle Beach with the future in laws). And generally Sundays are better for me than Saturdays if it's a day thing, because I'm still finishing up grad school (although, I'll be done in September!!!).

We are still up for it, we are just trying to get an idea of how many of us are going to be there, it is a really long drive for us:)

We are still up for it, but we would also be open to choosing another day as well. I can completely understand what you are saying about the drive though Kelly. I get antsy about a 3 hour drive, nevermind 9 hours.

 

The way it looks right now is Karen and I, Kelly and Everton, Jen, and Glenda + a friend of hers. That's all I can think of for confirmed people. Anyone want to help out and send some PMs to the maybe people on the thread. I will go back through as well to see who we can recruit.

 

As it looks right now, it would just be 7 or 8 of us. Maybe it would be better to plan for a meetup with more people? I dunno. Even if we don't count this as the big meeting, I think we would be willing to take the trip down and have lunch and drinks with whoever wants to show up. Even if nobody wants to, Karen and I could still have some fun down there.

Well, we are one week away from the date. What is everyone thinking about whether or not to keep going with it?

 

From the sounds of it, it seems like the general consensus is to have it on another date when more people can show up. I'm thinking that might be the best option right now.

I'm all for going, but I agree with you Jason. I would hate to see Kelly and Everton drive all that way for such a small group. (Plus summer traffic to the city is a NIGHTMARE!!!!)

Alright kids. Let's make this official then. The get together is postponed to a later date. I just think it would be better to be able to have a whole bunch of us together at once. And for the people traveling from other areas it means they wouldn't have to worry about making the trip twice.

 

I will send out some PMs to the stragglers who were still interested and we will all have to work on another date that works for everyone.
