Hi Jelene,

I got a reply from Mariana the new wedding coordinator. Basicly is not within 3 month to get your marriage certificate but more within 4-5 month.

Here are her replay:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Wedding Coordinator.

We are receiving marriage certificates and we have received the copy your to check it. We realize the name of the groon father was with mistake. I am sending it enclosed. It takes about 15 or 20 days to legalize.

If within that time frame I didn't recived marriage certificate I will then contact the Dominican Republic Embassy as many being wed by fake judge.

Thanks

Irma

Hello Edenh Brides....

I just got back from the NH on Saturday. We were married on April 22nd and had the greatest time. I'll post a quick review and is anyone would like more information feel free to PM me.

I had spoke with Mariana frequently before we left so had a pretty good idea of how things would go. She also emailed me with a meeting time to discuss last minute details once we were at the resort. We traveled with a group of 64 and everyone had the best time...the resort and rooms are beautiful. We had the upgraded package. We even had a letter in our room congratulating us on arrival!

The meeting was great. Mariana is a sweetheart and will do whatever she can. The only supplies we had were for the sand ceremony, bubbles, music, and cake topper. Everything else was provided and she will do whatever you want. She showed pictures of different cakes, flowers, etc. and the meeting was about 30 minutes. Payment was made the next day with mastercard. We even went over how we wanted the reception area to look.

As for the wedding....I did my own makeup (I had a lesson prior!) and my cousin did our hair so I have no comment on the spa. My two sisters stood for me and I had small bouquets for each of them and I chose to have blue ribbon around the flowers. The guys and my father had white flowers and blue ribbon as well. These were all delivered an hour before the ceremony.

We chose the huppa (gazebo) for the ceremony on the beach. It was $350 but well worth it. Mariana chose the flowers that went with the huppa and they looked amazing. I had the white chair covers with blue ribbon. Mariana provided rose petals for down the aisle. I gave her music on CD's for the ceremony as well as a CD with 1 hour of music for the cocktail hour. The ceremony itself was very quick. Once it was over, we went into a toast (wine and sprite for everyone, which can be chosen during your meeting). Hardly anyone ate the h'or douvres but they looked okay. Our ceremony was at 4pm and it wasn' t too hot.

During the cocktail hour is when we had our photos taken. I highly recommend our photographer and videographer. I couldn't be happier with the pictures. He gave us (before we left the country) a DVD, CD with 599 photos on it as well as personalized wedding book which is beautiful. If you would like to see it please PM me with your email and I will send it. His name is Michael Weiler and his website is weddingpuntacana.com. He and the videographer were hilarious and truly made the day!

The reception was held at the Italian. Great spot because you have a dance floor. I provided the CD's for music and it was fun. The food was delicious.

It wasn't a very detailed review but I really have nothing but the greatest things to say about the resort and how they handled the wedding. Everyone from the wedding coordinator, those that prepared the ceremony and as well as the staff at the reception....they were all great. I would go back there in a heartbeat!!

Hello everyone....just wanted to give you an update. I was married (civil ceremony) on March 10, 2009 at the EdenH and I just received an email from Mariana that she has our marriage license and will be sending it to me via UPS. Just wanted to share since there was some discussion recently on this topic.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
