Yes, I've had some people say things like, "Why would you want to go away to get married, you're not going to have many people there because it's too expensive" (too expensive for our guests maybe, but we are saving lots of money and this is the reason we are having an AHR) and "There are churchs here?" (I don't want to get married in a church) and "Why did you choose that resort, there is a window looking into the bathroom" (why does this matter if you are going with your husband or wife? There is a frosted glass door infront of the shower and toilet. If this really bothers them, I told them to bring thumb tacks and tack a towel infront of the window).

But you are right... it's your wedding day and it's all about the two of you. You had reasons for choosing to get married away, don't forget those reasons. When it comes down to it, it doesn't matter where you are getting married because YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!! CONGRATULATIONS! Enjoy your planning and your day!elefant.gif

wow you just said it all Becksy! so true

I was just wondering if anyone else is planning on having there reception at the Jellyfish Restaurant.

It's so close to the EdenH and with the pricing of the resort for dinner is almost the same as renting out this fanatastic restaurant.

plus there's a DJ and dance floor right there, so it would roll like an actual reception.

I'm just really excited about this......my group is fairly big and I don't want to have my reception at the resort's buffet.

I'm still thinking about it! Do you know how far in advance we have to book? I was also thinking about doing the beach reception because I wanted a private party. Are you thinking of renting the whole place out? I know that the rental alone is $1000.

I've just booked the restaurant this week, which leaves 5 months to my wedding, and I had no problem getting the 24th.....so I would book as soon as possible but maybe email them to find out for sure.

([email protected])

and yes I am renting out the whole place.....i think it's worth it to have that whole place for ourselves.....just think of how much it would cost to rent out a cool restaurant like that in any city back home.....especially toronto.

Keep me posted on what you decide :)

Yes, Lillian is the 'new sales assistant' I was referring to. So I'm assuming Grisele is no longer there huh.gif I have been in contact with the executive of sales because of all the issues I was having. So since I straightened some things out with her, I am now supposed to be in contact with Lillian. I've only received one email from her thus far, and that was the one telling me to fill out that stupid form again.

My advice, if you have any emails from Ruth or Grisele, make sure you save and print them to take with you. B/c if she is the new coordinator she will more than likely have little to no clue about any previous plans you might have made. Not her fault, but I'm assuming each coordinator kept different notes different ways.

I'm just upset that the coordinator has changed AGAIN, especially so close to my freakin wedding. fryingpan.gif I understand that this is a new resort, but enough is enough, they have now been open long enough to have some things in order, and this better be one of them come 8-8-08.

Ok, sorry, off my vent wagon, lol :~)

I'm sure everything will be fine Twinkletoes. I know that's easier said than done, but things have a way of just working themselves out. Besides, you seem to be very organized and that will save you everytime. Try and relax and enjoy every moment.

And please share your pictures.

Lillian seems to be a little quicker in replying to emails. So far I am feeling a little bit better about the new WC. They are apparently working on a more comprehensive wedding brochure to include pics. etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
