Yes, with the symbolic ceremony, you are not legally married in the DR. You can get legally married before our after having a symbolic ceremony. I think majority of the people do it before.

Havent seen pics from the wedding in Feb. The coordinator that promised me those pictures is no longer there. So I am re-requesting to see any available.

As far as beach reception, I sent the coordinator an email regarding this last week. I am waiting to hear back from her. I do however have the private plated dinner and buffett menu/pricing.

As soon as I hear something, I will let you guys know!

Hey Girls,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out!? I have been talking to two wedding coordinators from Edenh (Gisel and Nora). I am very confused! I told them that I wanted to book a symbolic ceremony. One of them e-mailed me back and said that they have requested the date with the judge. I didn't think a judge was needed for a symbolic ceremony, so I e-mailed back and asked if we actually needed a judge. She said "No, you need a minister!" I am getting frustrated! I can't get straight answers or explanations!

Hi Nicoled,

My sister is actually having a symbolic ceremony at the Edenh is less then two weeks. She had a hard time understanding why they need a judge as well. But was explained that they still need someone to officate the ceremony regardless of the legal component. So you will still have someone to officate the ceremony based on who is available. Her confusion now is that she is trying to tie up lose ends ie. flowers requested, meal arrangements, first dance, and photos. And she is just being told not to sweat it and they will have a meeting when they arrive at the resort. My husband and I did a destination wedding 4 years ago and when we did they tried to upsell everything they could. So I think that's why you do not make all the choices before you get down there. Because it leaves them open to sell you what they can, more pictures, better flowers, private reception, ect

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
