Like our Gran Bahia thread is a few pages long. Is it cool to keep using it for questions we have?

I hope I am making sense,....I am sleeeeeeeepy.
I think I understand, and good question. But honestly, I don't think the importance of using the search before asking a question that may have already been asked is as critical for the server performance as it is for 1) keeping the forum organized - it's so much nicer to have only a couple main threads on a topic rather than having a bunch that all say the same thing and 2) keeping the sanity of the existing members and moderators - like others have said, it's frustrating to work so hard to keep this forum running and organized like we all do (I am constantly moving threads to their proper location, etc.) just to have someone come in and ignore the simple layout of this forum, and the fairly intuitive search feature and want us to do their work for them. and it's a tad annoying to have to answer the same question 10 times a week when a simple search would find the answer.

So in short, if there's already a thread out there on the topic you'd like to discuss - absolutely revive it!

Thanks Glenda! Hopefully this helps. Some of us that have been here for a while need to feed our addiction for new info. I get so excited to see how many unread posts i have when I log, only to get let down because so many of them are questions that are already answered...but I still love it here! :)

Well done, Glenda. I'm sure we're all guilty to some extent for not using the search, or starting a thread that could be tacked on somewhere (me, too). But this is a good reminder, and something that we should immediately make sticky - and have all newbies read as a matter of course; same as an inital post.

What if you make new invitations? Do you tag them on the end of another thread or start a new one?

Also, if people just have something silly to post, is it fine to put it in the chit chat thread? That one can easily be wiped out periodically right?

Is the goal not to limit the number of threads posted, but to limit the number of threads that say the exact same thing?

I think it has been fun to see old threads revivied after this post. I can see how there really were just a few brides in the beginning.

Wait a minute..... I am still confused..... Is my marriage in Mexico legal? It was done at an all-inclusive. Does that matter? Also we might be going to Mexico in July for our anniversary. Does anyone know what the weather will be like that week?

Ahh, fuck it, I'll just start a new thread in the wrong section and ask a bunch of random crap all at once.

P.S. Thanks for getting that out there Glenda. I hope it helps a lot of people on here to use the forum mo' better. Are beach weddings legal? What if we bring our own silk flowers. That might help right? I am sooooo confused.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
