Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

Well I just got a reply from Carolina to the email I sent yesterday to confirm everything. All is good but the ceremony date! I am sure I told her we wanted to do a symbolic ceremony on December 8 at 5pm, but the only record she has is for 2pm on the 9th and now she is all booked up already for the 8th... It's a good thing I did not get anything personalized, the only problem is it says December 8 on our invitations... Grrr... Now I need to pick between December 7th and 9th.

you would think dates would be the one secure thing. I'm glad nothing is personalized....that would be horrible. I really don't think the date matters all that much. Your guests are there for you guys, and I'm sure they are pretty much wide open for anything......can't wait to hear about it when you get back

Aww...Thats so fustrating!! Its a good thing you didn't have anything personalized. But at least like Danielle said, your guests are there because of you guys so I'm sure their not going to mind. But If it were me I would pick the 7th because then you have the rest of the week to relax and enjoy your time together. Good luck on deciding. Ethier way its going to be amazing smile29.gif

I wouldn't worry to much, like everyone said your gust are there for you, and for a vaca they will run with you.

To make you feel better: We had chosen Jamaica to get married, picked a resort put a deposit. We sent out our invites (formal ones) with the Jamaica resort name and the date, which was April 10.

Then we got a whole lot of bad reviews, so we decided to change resorts and country lol. so I had to call 50 people to let them know we changed (that was embarrassing)

Sooo at least your still at the same resort and it's roughly the same dates.

Good News!

Carolina emailed me back, the bride who was booked for the 8th cancelled, so I can have that date back smile29.gif

She's got me down for 5pm like I wanted, but of course she won't confirm that, or La Uva

Now my only problem is I can't seem to get ahold of Jalu photographer to confirm things with him. Grrr. The only way to contact him is through a fomr on their website, and I think it is broken. I've asked Carolina for his phone # and email

Hi Gals! I haven't been on here for a few weeks and boy did I miss a lot! Still trying to catch up on reading all the posts. I received the new Gazebo photos from my TA and I agree...totally beautiful and now I may switch from the beach to that gazebo.

CarribeanLover,

I was also going to have the beach reception but was a little concerned about how the aunts and uncles could dance in the sand so I asked my TA and she arranged for me to have the reception part (after the meal) at the Bohuvia (?) which is directly on the beach and they can set it up for dancing, dj, etc. It would be the same price $9 per person and I will get the dj.

Also, wanted to remind all the turquoise/aqua brides that I am getting chair sashes and will gladly share. My wedding is the 12th and I leave there on the 21st. Still working on decor. I also want to get paper lanterns and dont feel like carrying any glass or anything too heavy because I have OOT bags and contents, plus the favors and the usual stuff!

Have been dress shopping every weekend but haven't found the perfect one yet. Discovered 2 stores in Moose Creek which is not too far from Casselman. Going there tonight or tomorrow. Anyone been there?

I went to Moose Creek!!!! The one that has the mori lee dresses, anyways. I found one of them very pushy, so I went and bought my dress somewhere else.
She only had the dress in ivory, but I wanted white, so instead of telling me she can order it, she said 'white is ugly anyways, this color is much nicer"
But that was only 1 woman, a big woman tall, don't get her lol

I thought about dancing on the sand, and as long as people are willing to take their shoes off it shouldn't be a problem. So where your going to set up for the beach party, there is a floor or something?! I will not be hiring a DJ, just bought an Ipod and will buy maybe a bose (whatever they are call, docking system) I will have to ask someone to MC the whole thing now lol

What will the paper lanterns be for? I was going to do the same when i was just going to have a free reception/dance under a gazebo, but I was told if your having it the way we are, it gets all decorated with light and stuff, maybe you wont need them anymore?

Dawn, I didn't go to Moose Creek, but I have a few friends who did. A couple of them went to Alliance there, and bought their dresses there. One had a decent experience and the other not so much. The one who didn't only bought her dress there because it was much cheaper than at other stores, and alterations were included, however, she was not very happy with the alterations (She had to have a lot done to the dress). The friend who had an okay experience told me she thinks it was because she spoke french...I guess she was taken care of before some other ladies who were there before her... This place I hear is great on price though; they both got their dresses a couple hundred dollars less there. And although neither of them were crazy about the service, they both had beautiful dresses - they just had to work a little harder with the staff to get them.

I debated getting my dress there since the alterations are included in the price, but ended up going to Sinders in Carleton Place, since we travel out there to see FH's family frequently.

Dawn, I went to moose creek and at the second store on that street (in the small mall) was bad. I think I got the same lady as Tracy. I had the worst experience ever, I almost cried, she was so mean and the worst part is I think she's the owner!!! She kept on telling me that I didn't know what I wanted, but it was the opposite I did know and she didn't have what I wanted!!! eurghh!!!!

anyway the first store at the corner, was good, I know a few people that bought there dresses there and got a good price for them. It's worth looking for sure.

I got lucky for my dress, there was a sample sale from baroness bridal last june near the St-Laurent shopping center, the hotel beside the link's stadium and found my dress there.

let us know how it goes for you, good luck on finding your perfect dress :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
