If you are on the Royal Suites side you simply go to the Butler located in the RST lobby a day or 2 before you want the cake and let them know that you need a birthday cake. It cost 20 dollars and it was delicious!! It fed at least 20 people and then some. I can't remember what the flavours were but I think you had a choice. They also put Happy Birthday with the persons name on it.

We too wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate, so we opted to meet at the RST poolbar at around  8pm and they put patio tables in a circle to accomodate around 20-30 people. It was a beautiful night out and it ended up being a nice private party.

I am bringing my own cake topper.  I am bringing an initial monogram.  Just simple and easy to transport.  I am going to request the cake below and plan on bringing ribbon.  I like the ribbon with the flowers.

That's the same type of cake topper we were going to use... where did you find it at and was it expensive?

Also, I don't know why Carolina isn't responding via email. I have sent her messages and she responds within a few days.

Have you tried replying with the subject: Wedding on (fill in date)

I usually respond with my date in the headline and use the "reply" button to a previous message she has sent me so she "knows" who I am. Hope she responds soon! I get married in a lil over a month. If I can find out anything while I am there for you, let me know! Good luck with your planning!

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the toppers they provide based on the pics I've seen. I remember a past bride saying that you can just ask them to not use it and they won't. I'm not a huge fan of toppers in general...I'm bringing turquoise ribbon for the sides of the tiers and a big star fish I bought at Michael's for the top (which I guess is kinda like a topper)...I realize some people may not like the idea of a starfish touching their cake - I, personally, don't care and will have fun eating it anyway, lol msnwink.gif

Quick question, anyone who didn't do the legal paperwork there, what does Carolina need to do the ceremony? Is it just a copy of the papers or your actual certificate. I am trying to decide which date we should do the legal stuff on here, but I think it takes so many days to get back I want to be sure we get it on time if she needs the actual certificate.

AND Carolina emailed me asking for our guest list which means it is officially geting CLOSE! I better get my butt moving to get everything together! Work and grad school have been consuming my life msncry.gif

Hello LAdies!!  Does anyone know if the resort gives you the choice of the dinner being a buffet? Or if the guests can have a choice of either fish or meat? I have looked at their menus and it seems that we have to decide what everyone is going to eat. I wouldn't mind a buffet style dinner so like that my guests can have whatever they decide.

Ha good luck with this one.  Carolina STILL hasn't sent me a menu, I just have the choices from past brides on here.  Depending on how many guests you have (I think you have a large group) I am pretty sure that a buffet is not and option.  You must have a pre-set menu which you can't decide on until you get there.  She will show you the options when you get there and tell you what restaurant which sucks if you are wanting to have formal menu cards printed to match your theme which is the dilema i am currently faced with.  Here is the bad thing...EVERYONE must eat the same thing.  I have told Carolina that I am willing to pay more for additional options but this is not available.  Everyone has to either eat meat or fish, you don't get both which I think is odd since it is an all inclusive place and you are spending the extra money.  I think they should allow for your guests to have 2 entree options, but they don't!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
