Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Military Mrs., I believe that the chairs do have covers included for the ceremony. Carolina sent me the package choices (2009 rates, mind you), and covered chairs and decorates tables was included in the package. I think they have coloured sashes that you can choose from, but I don't know what the selection is yet.

Hi ladies! I just wanted to chime in about the gazebo set-up. When I was there I saw a wedding that had about 40 guests and there was plenty of room around the gazebo for the chairs. You can see that there are white stones in a square formation on either side of the path leading up to the gazebo. The chairs are set up on the stones and there was lots of room. The only downfall with the gazebo is that is is near the pool area and at 4pm they have games around the pool. I witnessed a wedding trying to compete with the noise, so it is something to consider.

I personally chose the beach location b/c it was my vision and there were alot of on-lookers. Carolina does do a great job of keeping them at bay, and there is a security guard on the beach making sure people don't stand directly behind the arch and keep moving down the beach. The photos taken by my guests had a lot of speedo men in the background but my photog (Fran from photosouvenir) was able to take the shots to avoid having them visible or was able edit them out of the photos which is amazing!

Truly either location is beautiful and offers plenty of space, so and it all depends on whether you want the sand between or toes or not!

We did the beach wedding and they use a security guard to make sure people don't walk by - so our pictures were great. The back drop of the ocean is outstanding. They put up a lovely arbor. It was a little windy, but so much nicer then the gazebo, although the gazebo is nice. They do a great job of organizing the site all so pretty. We up graded the flowers from the package as the package is roses, go figure. The local flowers are so much nicer - the cost to upgrade for bride and one attendant was 75. us. We also used a local photographer and he did an excellent job.

For those ladies that were married already at the GP - were you married in the Gazebo or on the beach? I have concerns about both now from reading some comments!!

On the beach, i hear there is a security guard that keeps the "lurkers" at bay. But what about wind? was you hair and dress blowing all over the place?

And the gazebo - I have hear about it being close to the pool...but also we are looking at about 40 guests. I know now that there is space for them around the gazebo, but can they actually see what's happening inside the gazebo?

Thank you!!

Beach - The day I was married it was super, super windy on the beach b/c we had storms that day. My hair was pinned down except for a few loose pieces in the front, which did blow around where it wasn't pinned. Everyone could hear despite the wind b/c they have a mic for the ceremony, but we had a family member film the ceremony and most of it we can't hear b/c of the wind hitting the mic on the camera. As far as my dressing blowing around, it was lace so it was pretty heavy and it wasn't an issue.
The thing with the wind is that one day it could be really windy and another day it could be really calm on the beach (like the day after our wedding). Unfortunetly you can't control that aspect.

For the gazebo, the guests should be able to see you b/c there is a pretty wide opening and they sit in front...possibly the ones on the outside of the rows may have to look through gazebo openings on the side. I'm pretty sure that everyone would be able to see pretty well. The gazebo has a nice archway too which made for a beautiful sight when the bride walked down the aisle.

I may have some pics of the gazebo b/c we rehearsed the night before in front of the gazebo...if I find them I will post them

I'm the same way! I need to figure out BM dresses and invitations and onto more fun stuff! We are going monday to monday. I figure I'll be running around the weekend before and our company gives us 3 days "wedding pay" that we will definitely be using!

To the brides debating between the gazebo and the beach I might have some inside info to make your decision even harder... my travel agent is also acting as our wedding coordinator at this end (is communicating with the coordinator at the resort for us, translating documents, etc)... anyway, she has been to the Palladium a few times in the last six months and was telling us that they're actually in the process of building a second gazebo AT the beach. Apparently, they aren't allowed to build ON the beach but they've decided to build it where the Palladium property meets the beach (this area may make more sense to those who have already been). Anyway, we've requested this area (yikes!!) for our ceremony in November... apparently, they expect it to be built by then.

Also, anybody been there in November? We're going the first week of November and I'm a little worried about weather.

I've never been to the DR in the fall...I'm a winter/spring vacationer!! I like breaking up the terrible Nova Scotia winter :) However, I know that hurricane season is from June 1 to November 30th. As long as your happy, it doesn't matter what the weather is like!!

And will you be posting pictures of the new site?? Even if you don't get married there, you should creep it and get some pics for us :) lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
