Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

CaribbeanLover,

Yes, we will be having a legal ceremony with the judge at 6 pm.

Thats strange that you couldn't do yours in the evening. Now you have me worried! Before we booked anything, we had our wedding planner/travel agent find out when the ceremony could be and thats the date and time she gave us.

oh and I'm sure your TA is right,Maybe you booked before me, and this resort has XX amount of time slots for the judge, so you got the evening, maybe that's why I couldn't. But Carolina kept telling me the time could change depending on the judge (I just hope it's not early morning)
I'm sure you'll stick with you time, no worries. Even if it turned out you couldn't keep the time, we are in DR No worries (it's what I keep trying to tell myself lol)

Agh I'm getting frustrated. I am trying to book the private dinner/reception with Carolina and she has stopped answering my emails. The last I heard from her she said that La Uva is booked the evening of my wedding and that I should consider a beach reception. I just need to find out from her if there are other alternative restaurants that we could reserve but she has ignored several of my emails. Sometimes this "planning from afar" can be so aggravating =) CarribeanLover I'll try to remember your "no worries" motto! haha I thought I was doing so well with that!

Ha Ha, not easy huh!! I keep trying to remind myself what I say "no worries" then the bob marly song plays in my head.

I'm still undecided if I am not a private reception or not. I figure I would decide when i get down there. You should just do the same. When you have your first meeting with her when you arrive, tell her you want a private reception, and the 3 of you will walk around the resort she'll give you a few option and you can pick from there.Remember (I too have to remember) we have a coordinator after all! since allot of girls on her said she does an amazing job, we should try not worry to much about her reply's. In the end I think we all will get what we want, and it'll be exactly what we expected.
how many guest are you having? Beach reception is $60 pp so if your having guest that would come up to $1000 you should be good for the beach reception, but if your having more then that, your best bet is to stay at one of the restaurants.
Oh, and there are other options for private. Ummmm... trying to think of the name of the resto.. but it's the buffet one (your menu is still picked like anywhere else, you pick it)

We are expecting close to 30 people so the Beach reception would definitely be too costly. I'm also worried about the weather...what if its windy or chilly on the beach? I know, I'm worrying too much! haha My FI calls me "CF" for control freak! haha The only issue I have about waiting until we get there is that if she books everything before hand (like La Uva in this case) I don't want to get left settling, you know? But yes, Bob Marley had it right! "Every little thing's gonna be alright"...destination weddings should be simple and stress free. Maybe I should take up yoga or meditation or something haha

Cherrybomb, I feel your pain! I am a complete stress bunny!! bunny_4.gif Sometimes I don't know what I was thinking planning my wedding so far away and not having any control!! lol

But, theres nothing we can do about it, thats what I keep telling myself, becuase if there was then we all wouldn't be waiting weeks before Carolina emailed us back!!!!

So, that being said I say to you what I say to myself, Relax and enjoy this time it will all come together in the end, and if it doesn't its those little things that are messed up that make good stories and you can look back and laugh!!

Ps - I know that sounds corny, but it makes me feel better!! lol

Something I have been doing in my communications with Carolina is signing off with my full name, ceremony type (symbolic/renewal of vows) and wedding date.

She has so many brides she is dealing with I imagine it can be difficult to keep us all strait, also the fact my wedding is coming up soon and she can see that on my emails is probably the reason why she is replying to me sooner then those of you who still have half a year to go.

I will continue to pass on any info I get

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
