Does anyone else have more than 20 people? This may change my plan of the beach party afterwards.....hmmm, decisions, decisions.....

Yes, when we realized this too we decided there wasn't much point of spending MORE money on top of the private dinner for the beach party/reception afterwards (for the size of our group, it woulda been $2000 cheaper to just keep our reception in the restaurant and not move to the beach). When you privatize a restaurant you get it for the evening (for example, we begin our dinner at 6:30 pm and are having the restaurant until 11 pm). You can set up a DJ or sound system in there too to do speeches, dancing, party, etc. It will cost extra to have a bar service though and if my memory serves me is $12/person (after the dinner...beer, wine, champagne is included in the dinner portion). DJ is $300 I think.

I don't think that is the case. I know it says if you have more than 14 you will have a set menu, but I never read that you HAD to pay for a private reception if you had more than 20. When someone gets a definite response on this, please post!

Where did this mandatory dinner come from? Did this actually come from Carolina? Nothing I have says that you have to have the private dinner if you have more than 20 guests. This definitely would make me reconsider this hotel. I sent her an email this morning, so we'll see what she says.

I know the resort charges 300$ I read somewhere that a bride paid about 900$ for dj mannia, I'm not sure if that's a flat rate or depends on what you want. I know she had a dance floor and a lot of lighting with her package

Hi ladies!  Sorry to just barge in your thread here, but I'm going on vacation from Dec 11-18 at the Royal Suites Turquesa.  I'm sure you guys already have tons of pics from past brides, but I thought I'd let you know in case you need pics of something specific.  I'll do my best to help anyone out that needs it!

Hi ladies, Carolina informed me that for a private reception dinner in one of the restaurants, a minimum of 40 ppl are needed and for the beach party, you would need at least 20 ppl. No mention of a mandatory private dinner.

I do have a question about the set menu though, from one of Carolina's emails, I understand she says that the bride and groom choose ONE item from the appetizer, entree, and dessert and everyone eats the same thing? is this correct?if so, that would not be so great to have everyone eating the same exact thing :(

Hey Roxy,

yes unfortunately everyone does have to eat the same thing. The only exception is if anyone has  specific dietary needs or allergies.

Thanks for the clarification! I don't know who heard that but I was about to have a heart attack since I chose this resort because they didn't charge extra for dinner based on the amount of people (unless you wanted private).

I am not sure how many people you have coming, but from what I understand you only have a set menu if there is more than 14 in your group. I know they can make accommodations for food allergies, vegetarians, etc.... but other than that, over 14 people a set menu needs to be chosen. If you think there may be an issue, I would contact Carolina and see how flexible they can be with it. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
