Hey CarribeanLover,
I can't imagine that you will have a problem with your wedding date if I understand you correctly. There is no minimum amount of time you have to be in the Dr to get married - just what the resort likes and from my previous conversations - Carolina was pretty flexible. They just like to have the time to prepare once you're there. We are going on a Saturday and having our wedding on the Wednesday, but we were offered the Tuesday for a wedding day too, so you should be fine. But I know! It's hard when you just want to know 100% that it's alright!

The new gazebo is absolutly beautiful....I tried to book it for my wedding, but Carolina told me that everything will be done once I'm there...sad.gif I think she is doing it that way because there is another wedding on the Tuesday. I have a feeling it's first come first serve....guess I'll find out, I just don't want to be stuck with leftover, even though the leftovers are just as beautiful.....I'm stressing a little...lol

Welcome to the stress club, shankd =) So many of us are finding it hard to just wait things out until we arrive at the Resort. I have emailed Carolina twice about booking my reception dinner and haven't heard back from her. I just have to assume that everything will end up perfectly regardless of this current lack of communication. We just have to try not to let it get to us! haha (sometimes easier said than done =) I know what you mean about ending up with leftovers, but I think because the resort is so big and shared with the Palace and Bavaro there should be plenty of amenities to suit all of us. Fingers crossed! haha

CherryBomb....

thx for the words of encouragement....I'm not a big planner, thus why we decided to go away, but waiting till last minute is driving me to drink even though we are spontaneous and last minute people...lol Each and everyone of us wants it to be special and unique and I believe that the powers that be will let this happen.....;0, with a little help from Carolina!!!!!

Hi thanks for your reply! Actaully in my my package and Carolina has told me I had to be there 3 business days before the wedding (Sat and Sundays don't count) hence why I was so stress about the dates,I even read the laws of getting married in DR and it too says you hve to be there 3 business days. But I finally got my reply back from Carolina and she oked be arriving Saturday (I told her I would have my menu picked before arriving)
Are you getting married by the judge? or your just doing symbolic ceremony?
I know if your not doing legal ceremony you can be there 2 days before the wedding.
Thanks again! :)

Carribean Lover; We're getting married by a judge in the early afternoon, and then having our ceremony with Pastor Rick York later in the day. It seems like no one ever gets the same information! But I'm glad it worked out for you!

Is anyone else using a minister down there or is everyone using just the judge?

Nonnie: I emailed Carolina about the chair sashes, and yes, they do supply them, but you only have a choice of 3 colours: gold, emeral green or orange. I have pictures of them, so i will post them tonight when I get home. None of these are my wedding colours, but i think I will settle for something, as I don't want to go to the trouble to bring my own down there.

we are simply going with the judge, and having the legal wedding. We are to arrive on the sat and being married on the tuesday, Carolina told my TA that this is ok, so I'm going to run with it. I like the fact that my wedding is at the beginning of the trip, so the stress of the day, as easy as it is, can be done and over with to be able to do day trips for the rest of the week and hang out at the beach clear minded and able to celebrate for the rest of the week!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
