Your guest will not want to eat at this point. You would have already had a 3 course meal, plus cake!! At this point all they will want to do is drink and dance.

Once your party is over and guest may be hungry, they can head over to the 24 hour sports bar where they serve snacks (pizza, ice cream, ect...)

I have to:

- find hairstyle pics

- want to have my hair highlighted before I go too

- burn cd of ceremony music and another cd of beach party songs that I would like in case the DJ doesn't have them

- pay my TA/Wedding Planner here. She is on vacation so I haven't seen her

- Take out some US funds and get tip envelopes or payment envelopes ready

- You mention you are choosing the menu... I wanted to design a menu but thought we had to wait until we get there to choose the food. have you heard differently?

- finish name tags on favour boxes

- wrap the wedding party gifts. we organized a dinner here at home this weekend so we won't have to cart steins, etc. there. I bought the girls sea glass jewelery for the wedding day and the guys are getting steins and zippo lighter sets (2 smoke). The ring bearer is getting a t-shirt and a dog tag necklace with his name and our wedding date on it

- finish making t-shirts for the groomsmen (they are going deep sea fishing and I am making t-shirts)

- purchase tank tops for the girls (I am ironing on the rhinestone bridesmaid decals)

- go through summer clothes and decide what to bring and what I need besides and bathing suit

- find a veil! My new mom in law wants to buy it. I might get a short one but not sure because I don't even know what I am doing with my hair

And the list goes on and on!!! Am in the middle of doing a welcome book, seating chart and a Program! We don't think we are doing the sand ceremony. Might do a seashell ceremony where the guests get a shell to make a wish for us. We shall see. Are you doing the sand ceremony?

Talk to you later!!!

I'm doing the sand ceremony, But I really like you seashell idea!!!!! if I didnt already buy the sand ceremony kit, I would totally steal your idea!!!

I had ask Carolina if it was ok to fly in on the 10th which means it's not 3 business days before the wedding, she agreed as long as I would have my menu picked out.So it's not the same for you, you will get to pick when you have your meeting with her. To be honest... I think I'll just make my mind up real fast when we meet her and she shows me the menu book.

Don't forget, she will actually make a menu for each guest and place it at their set at the restaurant.

How are you doing the seating? Are you writing cards out, and ppl will pick the up as they are on their way to the table? Or just have their names at the table? Did you figure what kind of tables? I'm still waiting to see if 6 guest are coming, if no..then we are 14 , I am not sure if I should have 2 tables and the head table (1 being the bridal, and the other with the rest of the guest, head table would be us and the parents) or just I just put everyone together minus the head table! ?

I decided to forfet the tshirts for the bridal party lol, cause they do their hair and then have to take the shirt off, it'll mess the hair up.. I'll just get them to wear a cover up with their bathing suits on.

Carribbeanlover - what is a romper? And I am going the teeth whitening also -- I wasn't sure when to do it though...what kind are you doing? Or are you going somewhere to get it done?

Are your flight times 100% determined? Ours aren't -- so that is holding me up a bit, we have FI's family who live in Quebec flying out of Toronto with us, and as of now we have a 6:20am flight time -- sooo we'll have to figure out what we're doing the night before.

Also -- how are you doing the programs? I want to do that, but I thought that some information (i.e. beach party time - and menu) weren't to be known until we get there. I would love to hear what you're doing!! :)

I decided not to go somewhere do to the teeth whitener, so I bought the crest advance seal ($49) but I just got 1, so we'll share and see what results we get, and may do it again the week we leave

My flight is 100% the time I got on my invoice 6:50am...we are not morning ppl)which is annoying because when I originally booked, I booked a 12pm flight, but then added an extra week, so my flight changed from Air canada to Air transit at 7am flight (air canada didn't have room for the second week)

then we got switch again from AT to CanJet!!!! which is now 6:50. smile27.gif

I made a brochure, I did put a wedding day time line, more of an estimation time, dinner i want to be at 6, so I will do my best with Carolina to assure that, and I figured2 hours at dinner was plenty of time, so I said beach party at 8, again I am sure the times will be a little off.

I was also thinking of doing a ceremony programe of who iswho, but then figured.. ppl will know who everyone is by then..so I wont do one.

this is a romper, but I can't find them anywhere.. and I don't want to order it from the states, cause it's $$ and what if it doesn't actually look good one me, ya know!!

Ok I need your opinion girls, what do you think about this hair style for the wedding day, keep in mind, I'm not blonde, I have brown/reddish/blonde streaks in my hair (all natural, very annoying, but to late to dye it, as I never dye my hair)

you know... your right... I didn't think about being hot.. and I should have as my ceremony dress is a dress church, very heavy.

Thanks so much, I'll look around for others and ask for your opinion again, I like it so much lol! wink.gif

Again, your right I'll be on the resort early, but probably not at the beach sad.gif because I having most of my guest arriving at different times and i'll have to greet them.

But your still right, at least I'll have a caribbean Ron collins lol (Mojito without the mint)

I like your frame of thinking!!!

Hi there, I noticed you mentioned you have a spa appointment. Did you make that in advance through Carolina or did you call the hotel directly? Thanks!

Ohh that'd would also be really nice.
But you know you can go to any bar and have a welcome party. For free. And then use this for your wedding day, or did you plan to also use the beach party as one of your events for the wedding? if no what did you plan to do after dinner? go to the disco?

I'm sure this is a really dumb question, but what exactly is the sand ceremony? Or rather, is it included with the standard ceremony that the judge does? I guess I've gathered that it's like a traditional unity candle, but the talk of it on the forum is all over the place (seemingly different in every thread/venue) so I'm a bit confused.

Is the sand ceremony always a part of weddings in the DR/at the Grand Palladium, or do you have to ask to have it included? Does the judge perform this part, Carolina, a guest, or your choice of those three? Do you have to bring the containers for this ceremony, or are there options provided by the GP?

First thing is first, you or anyone else never has a stupid question.. no such thing!!!!

Sand ceremony is something you would decided to do, and buy the kit and sand and do it yourself.
It's exactly like the candle but instead ppl now and days are doing sand ceremony, this way it can be kept for all of your life, and it's a pretty deceroation. There is a meaning to it. You can a vase with a coloured sand, and your new husnand has a vase and different coloured sand, the person who will be doing your reading (you pick the person) will also have a coloured sand (I choose to have Punta Cana sand) the reading person puts their sand down first as the base. Then the wedding couple pour the sands in together, each sand stands for your own life, but when you poured the sands together it's suppose to mean both lifes have been put together, and never can be sepreated like the grains of sand.
here is the reading I picked for my SIL to do.... btw this is something that happens after your annouced man and wife.

As you stand beside the ocean, may your love always be as constant as the tide; waves flowing endlessly from the depths of the sea. Just as water is the eternal force of life, so is love. Love is the force that allows us to face fear and uncertainty with courage. Love is the force that completes us.

You have just sealed your marriage by the giving and receiving of rings. Although you will be sharing one life, never forget that you are two separate people. Cherish and affirm your differences. Love each other, with everything you can imagine. Keep your commitment primary, and nourish it, above all else.

Together you will laugh and cry, be sick and well, be happy and angry, share and grow. In your lives together, you will no doubt be faced with many challenges, but also many joys. Embrace all of these together, as partners, as one.

To symbolize this union, two separate colors of sand will be combined. Each one holds its own unique beauty, strength, and character. They can stand on their own and be whole, without the need of anything else. However, when these two are blended together, they create an entirely new, and extraordinarily more intricate entity.

Each grain of sand brings to the mixture a lasting beauty that forever enriches the combination.

Please pour the sand into this common container to symbolize the union of your two lives.

[Tracy and Mike pour the sand into the centre vase]

Tracy and Mike, just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be a molding of two individual personalities, bonded together forming one heart, one life, and one family.

Coagulations

Pls let me know if you still don't understand, I am sure I can find another way to explain it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
