I got the "Wedding Agreement" form when I confirmed my date with Carolina. In all Honesty there wasn't really much to it. It had names, no. of guests, time requested, time of arrival. There wasn't even an place where you typed your name or anything to confirm the agreement. It seemed more like a form where she just had all the basic info. I wouldn't worry about it too much, as it seems like not a lot of people even got it.

hahaha well it's my FI family that lives in Sherbrooke -- so I take no offence to that!! It was very cold when we were there! His sisters actually live on the west island, so I went shopping there at the Mall in Pointe-Claire!! And I love the St. Hubert there haha!
I went to School in Lennoxville outside of Sherbrooke - I remember how cold it got there!

Does everyone know thier flight times? Becasue we booked so early (as I'm sure most people did on here), we won't know our flight times until 3 months before! I'm stressing because a) I HATE flying, so the not knowing is making me more nervous and B) some of our guests are coming from Montreal and flying out of Toronto so we need to help arrange accomodation if it is early in the morning!!

What are your flight times? and when did you find out?

We booked 1 week.. we got our time when we booked 5 months ago. It was 12pm and arriving in punta cana at 4 something.

But since we switch and added an extra week, or flight has changed from 12pm to 7am!!! (I am not a morning person lol)

and also we were flying with Air Canada (which allows more luggage allowance) now switch to Airt Transit (less luggage allowance)

So we are currently figuring out when we can do to add some extra weight (buy extra weight allowance)

Hi all, my FI and I are officially getting married here first and then having a "Symbolic" ceremony at the resort. We hope to fool our guests into thinking that the ceremony at the resort is official. Is anyone else doing this? I thought I read someone's comment about the fact that Carolina will give you fake papers to sign so that everything looks legit. Can anyone on here confirm if Carolina performs the symbolic ceremony and if so, can we give her our personal vows to read out loud and have us repeat? Also, for those of you doing the sand ceremony thing, how do you plan to bring the vase home unless it has sealed lid on it? I'm not finding very many of the jars online that have lids. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I never thought of asking Carolina - we are using Rick York and he said that he will bring "fake papers" that can be signed so that no one will know it is not real! He sent us the ceremony written and it was so nice! :) We are really looking forward to having him, and feel that he is worth the 300. That being said, I did not know that Carolina may be able to do it - perhaps I will look into that first.

I was going to do the symbolic there and do the legal here..but my mom and FI didnt want that...thats how I got the second week lol.
Carolina does the vows for you, and it's included in the $650 price. So if you want to safe the $300 you can. You can even bring some 'fake' papers yourself and ask her to includ it in your ceremony.
I am also doing the sand ceremony... and we are getting a kit with a lid on it... however you may (probably not but may) have problems trying to bring it back since your not allowed to bring sand back.. so What I am doing is the same day we get married (at night) I will put epoxy clue in the jar and it'll clue the sand the way it was set.. this way there is no worries when you come home that it wont be the way you guys had poured it in.

Oh really? You think I could just get her to do it? I never thought about that -- I would definately want to save the 300. I have not confirmed anything with him yet, but he seemed REALLY easy to work with. Perhaps if I ever get a hold of Carolina I will ask her what she can do to make people think it is real. Hmmm.

We are using Pastor Rick York as well. It was the one thing my mother requested for the whole wedding thing. I'm glad we are though, as he does a more intimate ceremony. He sent us 2 ceremony options and we can tailor them and change them as we like, so I'm looking forward to that. And our ceremony will be in English. We're doing the thing with the judge earlier in the day when we sign the papers, but no one will be there, except our witnesses.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
