Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

They do have a photographer, see above for his wesbite. You will find (unless he has recently updated it) that there are no wedding photos on them, PM me you email if you want to see his work, I got a handful of pics from him.

His prices are very reasonable, the catch, his English is terrible. I am fortunate to have my FMIL who is from Costa Rica to work as a translator and my Fiance also speaks Spanish. The nice thing about using him is that you don't need ot pay any money or decide on a package until you get to the resort.

I'm going to have the trio for the ceremony, and then my FI thinks that we'll go the Ipod route - we have an Ihome, but I may get the Bose thing if it makes a difference in the sound quality. I haven't really given this much thought yet.

If carolina gives you definite info, can you let us know what the story is?

They do have speakers for the ceremony b/c of the mic, and I witnessed another couple use their own music for the ceremony. You might want to burn a CD of your ceremony music though b/c it may be simpler and then use the iPod dock for your reception?

Good idea!! That would be easier, just have all the music in order and someone to press play!!

However, I came on here to vent because my travel agent just called me to say that they pushed our trip back by a day!!! So were going Sunday to Sunday now, if this screws up the wedding date, I will lose my mind!!!! She called Carolina this morning to tell her and she said it wouldn't be a problem, and that we shouldn't reschedule because the Judge has no more dates in April.

URGHHHHHHHHH..............

OK, I think I'm done now!! Boy, you guys are good listeners!! lol

Instead of working today, I thought I would put together some pics for you ladies to give you a better idea of what to expect. I will also include some non-pro pics that I have once I have the chance to upload them to Photobucket.

The diesel cart that takes you to the ceremony. Fits about 5-6 ladies.

The ceremony set-up on the beach.

Musical trio - two guitars, one cheese grater played with a comb.

The judge and Carolina (translating to English) on the left side, arch (same arch is used during gazebo weddings, but instead you walk through it down the path, rather than stand under it)

The little cake topper that came in the package for free.

The cake that came in the package - You get to choose the two icing colors, obviously I chose white and aqua. Our cake flavor was strawberry shortcake and it was fantastic!!

The train that picked us up at the GP Bavaro lobby at 6pm to take us to dinner at La Uva on the GP Punta Cana property.

This is the menu that Carolina makes up for the tables. Inside it lists the menu choices you make when you arrive. (The stones we brought to decorate the table, and our photog placed them on the menu for visual interest)

The set-up at dinner (La Uva) – 6 long tables of 8 plus the head table of 8. I gave Carolina absolutely no direction, except how many people were coming and if we wanted a head table or not. We used the space in front of the head table for our first dance.

One of my fave pics that was taken on the grounds right near the gazebo.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
