Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies,

I know what you mean about the loose planning. I think a person needs to be really flexible if getting married in the DR. I got my date back and confirmed for April 20, 2010. So we will all be there around the same time. I think we will be going April 15 -22. I didn't have to put a deposit or anything, Carolina said she would be in touch with me closer to the date. This worries me a little because I don't feel like it is secure, but I just have to trust it will work out. I asked to have the ceremony later in the day and we are renting out the disco for after dinner.

We were going to have a symbolic ceremony but Carolina told me that legal ceremonies get priority, so we decided to do a legal one. Is anybody else doing legal?

Does anybody know if you have to use the GP photographer and if not what the procedure is to get a different one. I read that some people used photosouvenir and they looked really good. Any insight would be great?

I am so relieved to have my date. Where is everyone getting married, beach or gazebo?

I'm not sure where we are getting married. I love the idea of the beach, but I'm afraid it will be too windy...and the Gazebo - does anyone know how they set this are up? We have about 30-40 people going, and I'm not sure it would be big enough.

I've seen lots of great photos from Photosouvenir. I emailed them but they never got back to me. Fortunately though, my good friend who is a photographer offered to do our wedding for us.

If you bring a photographer from offsite, the day pass is 60USD according to Carolina, but if the photog is traveling with you, there is no charge.

I'm getting married in the gazebo, since we are having a catholic (and therefore, legal) wedding. I fell in love with Photosouvenir - but, they were already booked the day of my wedding. Instead we are using HDC photo, and they have been very pleasant so far.

DEH, when my parents went down there to meet with carolina (they did a site visit since my FI and I couldn't), the chairs were some in the gazebo, some outside on the lawn area. I would double check with carolina, but I think you should be able to fit everyone with no problems.

We decided on the gazebo, but there will be between 40-50 people so I hope they will all fit. I will have to ask Carolina about that. She told me that on the beach you get a lot of people looking. It was a hard decision, but I think both will be beautiful.

That's what I was afraid of too! I don't really want men in speedos in the background. Carolina sent me some pictures of the gazebo and it looks really beautiful, and that it would be easy to keep more private. I too, will check with her about how it would work for a larger crowd. I'll let you know!

Hi Ladies,

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one Carolina doesn't respond to! lol I thought it was just me! :P

I think were going to do the gazebo as well...I orginally wanted the beach but....there will be alot of randoms in the background of the pics, and I don't want the so much.

Sence I hvan't heard from her, do any of yas know if all the chairs are covered for the ceremony?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
