I haven't been there, but other brides have posted that your guests won't even know the difference! I am hoping this is true because were doing the ROV as well since the paperwork is easier to do here.

I wonder if they will work with you at all on the day/night passes for your photographer.  I am going to have to buy 2 passes for the photographer, the videographer, and the DJ, plus one for the pastor and an additional one for the photographer for the next day when we do TTD unless we go off site which I think my photog does that...but that may be an extra charge with the photog...soooo much to think about

It all adds up quick, eh? Oh one other thing I figured I'd mention as it's not mentioned in the list but although the bridal bouquet is included, if you want orchids in it, you have to pay extra...I have no idea how much. I really like orchids! :P

We have hired DJ Mannia.  Orchids are extra? angry.gif  Oh well, I will probably just use pink and white..

By the way....I'm really pushing FI to change resorts after our wedding to spend the 2nd week somewhere different since this will serve kind of as a "honeymoon" at this time.  The Secrets Sanctuary looks amazing but it is unclear whether or not is is an "all inclusive" ..does anyone know the answer to this?  We definitely want an all inclusive, adults only.  We are have already stayed at The Excellence.  My TA suggested Majestic Elegance, which looks nice, but mimcs the GP and others a lot.  Secrets Sanctuary just looks so unique.  We are already staying in the Royal Suites section so there's really no where else to upgrade too (and adults only) at the GP.  I noticed on one thread that someone suggested checking to see if you resort is a part of a group of resorts which the GP is part of Fiesta but I don't think that there are anymore associated with them in Punta Cana.  Suggestions please... confused.gif

Yeah, the GPs are the only Fiesta hotels in Punta Cana.

Brides & Past Brides PLEASE help!!!  My FI and I are having some "debates" about the dinner.  He is not satisfied with the fact that we only get to give our guests 1 menu option.  He feels that people should get a choice between beef or chicken (etc.) which I would like as well, but I have tried to tell him that they just don't give you that option.  He really wants some Asian food served (spicy tuna) mainly and is being sort of a groom-zilla about it.  I am not sure how to handle.  PLUS I REALLY want to get my menu cards ordered (to save on shipping, and to make sure that they are here in time).  Carolina has informed me that she cannot confirm a restaurant until we get there or at the very least, 1 month ahead.  Do all resorts act in this manor?  I know it is a DW, but I still think you should be able to have confirmation on things.  I still would like to have some things traditional and we want a private dinner reception and private beach party.

She should be able to confirm that you are having a restaurant and private dinner for sure...as for confirming a particular restaurant, no idea. And as for the menu item, I think they are fairly strict on the one choice rule and will only make exceptions if one of two people have an allergy or something. I don't think there is any wiggle room on this and he may just need to accept that it is what it is. Sorry :(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
