Hi ladies, Carolina informed me that for a private reception dinner in one of the restaurants, a minimum of 40 ppl are needed and for the beach party, you would need at least 20 ppl. No mention of a mandatory private dinner.

I do have a question about the set menu though, from one of Carolina's emails, I understand she says that the bride and groom choose ONE item from the appetizer, entree, and dessert and everyone eats the same thing? is this correct?if so, that would not be so great to have everyone eating the same exact thing :(

Thanks for the clarification! I don't know who heard that but I was about to have a heart attack since I chose this resort because they didn't charge extra for dinner based on the amount of people (unless you wanted private).

I am not sure how many people you have coming, but from what I understand you only have a set menu if there is more than 14 in your group. I know they can make accommodations for food allergies, vegetarians, etc.... but other than that, over 14 people a set menu needs to be chosen. If you think there may be an issue, I would contact Carolina and see how flexible they can be with it. Good luck!

Thisis directly from the wedding package quote Carolina sent me:

Gala dinner for the bride, groom and guests

(International or La Uva restaurant). A set menu will

be required for groups with more than 14 people.(is

not a private dinner)

 THe private

The private receptions you pay $1000 to rent out a restaurant, here is another clip from the information Carolina sent me:

Rent of the restaurant - exclusivity/apply only for el Bohio restaurant or La Uva, based on

availability, will be reconfirm upon arrival, places and prices subject to change. : US$ 1.000

(from 6:30pm until 12:00 midnight)

- Open bar: US$ 12 per person during 3 hours,

- DJ: US$ 300 during 3 hours

- Live Music US$ 700 during 3 Hours)

- Apply for groups with more than 20 guests.

I hope that helps

Hi Guke30,

If for some reason the other Palladium resorts are full too and guests have to book outside of the complex, here is a map to see what which other resorts are closest. Remember though that to gain access to the Palladium the day of your wedding each guest would need a guest pass, which is $60 for the day and another $60 for the evening (each person).

But like Mellibelli said, as long as guests are on the Palladium/Royal Suites complex (not necessarily the Palace), they would not need to do this as they still have access to the Palace section regardless of whether their room is in the Bavaro, Punta Cana or Royal Suites section.

I am so happy I found this forum and look forward to discussing our DW's!

Hi Guke30,

There is a trolly or train that goes between all the palladium resorts there is 2 or 3 so it wouldn't be difficult if your guests were at one of the other resorts. All palladium guest have full access to the other resorts resorts. The royal suites is an all adult resort so there might be some limitation for that resort. It is also more expensive. I would say the bavaro and palace are the closest to eachother.

Thanks for all the clarification about the private dinner! One less thing to worry about!! Now onto picking the music, ceremony vows and the ceremony basics. We just need to sit down and talk about it! FI keeps putting it off, but I am cornering him tomorrow night! (I can't tonight, gotta watch the Grey Cup game and even forbid I interrupt that.)

And welcome to the new brides!!

Thanks for all the useful information on this forum - it's been a lifesaver and definately make me feel much better knowing I have nothing to stress about as Carolina seems to take care of it all.

My wedding is booked for April 2011, and was wondering for fellow April brides if you have booked you trip?  We've been watching the prices and they are quite high $1700 for the Royal Turquesa leaving from Toronto and is still going up. Would love to hear the type of group rates/prices you have been quoted.  We will have about 20 guests total including me and FI.

Any reco for TA from Toronto area for destination wedding?

Cheers!

Hi Tomato01,

We are getting married April 11, 2011 and have guest coming from toronto leaving April 7th. Our package is with air transat and they are paying $1470 with tax included for 1 week all inclusive. Just so your aware the royal suites is adult only and will be more expensive, so $1700 is a great price...is that wiht taxes?  I would book rather soon, we booked back in June. Our travel agent said booking 6-8 months in advance ensures there are flight and room space especially if you have a big group. We have 20 including me and FI, at first we thought we'd have close to 40 with all the people who said they were coming but you'll be surprised how many people back out when it's time to actually book. Rather disappointing but I'm excited for a smaller group easier to book stuff and cheaper with wedding favors and packages. Our travel agent is here in Alberta so not sure of a good one in TO. I'm sure some of the TO brides can help you with that. We booked our flight packages prior to picking our wedding day since you need to be at the resort at least 3 days prior to the wedding date to plan all your details.

Good Luck!

Mellibelli & Tomato01:

I booked my trip last week and staying from July 19-30th.

We staying at the GP Bavaro til the 22d, then moving to the Royal Section til the 25th, then the 25th moving to the Majestic Colonial Resort for the honeymoon.

This comes out to $1816 per person with transfers included, not a bad deal. We are coming from New Jersey. Patty one of the TA's on this site has helped us book and she has been great, I recommend her. She will work with you to get the best pricing possible.

Hi Chell,

Not sure if Carolina mentioned but does this only apply to Legal ceremonies? Did she mention if the symbolic packages have gone up in price too?

I'm new here and my FI and I just put our deposit down tongiht for Grand Palladium Punta Cana.  We are booked for Jan 5 2012.  I know it's far away but need time for arranging everything.  I bought my dress two weeks ago and love it!

Are there any brides here that live in Toronto?  We are now in the process of save the dates, and trying to figure out where the best place is the print them.

Congrats to all you ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
