Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

Hello Fellow GP Brides,

Thanks for all the useful information on this forum - it's been a lifesaver and definately make me feel much better knowing I have nothing to stress about as Carolina seems to take care of it all.

My wedding is booked for April 2011, and was wondering for fellow April brides if you have booked you trip?  We've been watching the prices and they are quite high $1700 for the Royal Turquesa leaving from Toronto and is still going up. Would love to hear the type of group rates/prices you have been quoted.  We will have about 20 guests total including me and FI.

Any reco for TA from Toronto area for destination wedding?

Cheers!

We have 27 guests leaving from Ottawa for the first week of April 2011.  We are paying $1450 per person but that is in the palace section for a standard room.  I know the Royal Suites are more expensive.  We have booked our trip back in october.

Sorry for the heart attack everyone! Thanks for clarifying this Roxy. My TA told me the dinner was mandatory for 20+ but I guess she meant the beach reception...it gets overwhelming sometimes with all the info! Thanks for someone double-checking!

Hi ladies, Carolina informed me that for a private reception dinner in one of the restaurants, a minimum of 40 ppl are needed and for the beach party, you would need at least 20 ppl. No mention of a mandatory private dinner.

I do have a question about the set menu though, from one of Carolina's emails, I understand she says that the bride and groom choose ONE item from the appetizer, entree, and dessert and everyone eats the same thing? is this correct?if so, that would not be so great to have everyone eating the same exact thing :(

If you do a private reception in a the restaurant, you can pay for an open bar which includes some hard liquor (I assume that's probably rum and vodka) for $12/person for 3 hours (if you want longer you have to pay more). It's the dinner that only includes wine/champagne and beer plus soft drinks.

The private reception goes to midnight at the latest...not sure if there is even an option to have it later. You could always just carry on to the disco afterwards.

Also, can you have the private reception longer than 11 pm?

Like Isa, we are leaving the second week in April and have 25 people booked. We are paying $1450 tax in, as well. That's for the GP Bavaro Imperial Club. We also have guests out of Toronto as part of our group rate and they're paying #1430. The Royal Suites is typical higher and I think $1700 is actually a good price for it...I wouldn't wait longer to book.

I spoke with my TA as I have guests that need to book last minute due to their jobs she informed me that the GPB is booked solid for the firdt week so my guests will need to stay in another part of the resortand that is depending if there is seats on the left on the plane or they will need to arrive a dif. day, so my qustion to you all is what would be the best for my guest ex. what is closest to bavaro? if any one knows I don't want them to feel left out due to this. I am so happy I found this forum and look forward to discussing our DW's!

Hi Guke30,

There is a trolly or train that goes between all the palladium resorts there is 2 or 3 so it wouldn't be difficult if your guests were at one of the other resorts. All palladium guest have full access to the other resorts resorts. The royal suites is an all adult resort so there might be some limitation for that resort. It is also more expensive. I would say the bavaro and palace are the closest to eachother.

Hi Tomato01,

We are getting married April 11, 2011 and have guest coming from toronto leaving April 7th. Our package is with air transat and they are paying $1470 with tax included for 1 week all inclusive. Just so your aware the royal suites is adult only and will be more expensive, so $1700 is a great price...is that wiht taxes?  I would book rather soon, we booked back in June. Our travel agent said booking 6-8 months in advance ensures there are flight and room space especially if you have a big group. We have 20 including me and FI, at first we thought we'd have close to 40 with all the people who said they were coming but you'll be surprised how many people back out when it's time to actually book. Rather disappointing but I'm excited for a smaller group easier to book stuff and cheaper with wedding favors and packages. Our travel agent is here in Alberta so not sure of a good one in TO. I'm sure some of the TO brides can help you with that. We booked our flight packages prior to picking our wedding day since you need to be at the resort at least 3 days prior to the wedding date to plan all your details.

Good Luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
