Gala dinner?? Do you mean private reception?? I don't think any of us did that. Its cheaper and just as nice to have your dinner at a semi private a la carte (which you don't pay for) and then your private beach party at $9 per person.

btw congrats on the pregnancy.... and don't worry the sickness will soon pass and be a memory in the past I promise.....

It's just me and my fiance going to Punta Cana we are also having an AHR here for everyone else....

I wonder If I can somehow get a private dinner just me and the Hubby??

hmmmm I'm guna email Carolina and see what or if there is anything she can do for us??

By gala dinner, do you mean private dinner? Meaning you get a whole restaurant to yourselves and your group? If so, it's $1000 for 4 hours. I think you need min 20 people.

Are you ladies staying in your gowns the whole day and night?
My wedding is at 2 pm as well ("subject to change" but I'm not counting on it). I will be in my gown from that time until I go to bed at night. I don't see much point in getting all fancied up just to get undone after a couple hours...I'm sure I'll be seeking out shade and A/C, however, LOL.

How many guests are you expecting? I think in another post you said that people are hounding you for info? It was the same for us. We sent out save the dates in January wayyyyyy before we booked or even knew the resort because group rates weren't available more than a year in advance. So our save the date cards basically just said "April" in "Punta Cana"...just to let people know what we were planning and that more info would be coming within a few months.

Awesome thanks for the info!

Also, has anyone had the beach wedding? We really want to have the ceremony on the beach but it seemed like the Carolina was trying to talk me out of it. I tried getting a 5pm time so a lot of people won't be on the beach but for now I'm stuck with 2pm. Any recommendations for 2pm on the beach? Do I ask them to set up closer to the water? Our whole reasoning for going away was to have our feet in the sand while we say our "I do's!" I know people will be around and watching, but that's ok if we have some stragglers in our pics! hehe

You will have to let me know how it goes since your wedding is in a few months! You must be so excited! Carolina seemed like she was trying to talk us out of a beach ceremony, but I know its what we want regardless of the half naked people watching us hehe

We decided to use the beach gazebo for our ceremony, and our current time is 4pm. Do you guys think that is a good time?

I also really wanna do the private beach party and as of Friday I now have TEN people booked!! People are finally booking!! :)

I wish it was January.....I want to be in Punta Cana now!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
