Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

I was so stressed with the ceremony timing as well. Mines will be at 2pm. I figured people can go to the bars or even the casino, or back to their rooms to take a nap. On another site a girl said she had a pool party before dinner, that sounds fun, but who wants to change and get all wet, mess up their hair and then dress back up again? Are you ladies staying in your gowns the whole day and night?

We then had group pics (at the gazebo) then our wedding party pics at the beach (as well as just the two of us). While we were having pics done our guests were having drinks at the Punta Cana lobby bar. They took our cake out to the lobby but my fam was to busy drinking to eat cake so we brought it to the restaurant and my mom cut and served it after dinner.

Don't worry about your guests and the gap in between, everybody is on vacation so they will just do their own thing and whatever time you want them to be back somewhere they will be after all their there because of our wedding.
Great points--especially that the guests are on vacation, so they'll figure out how to relax. I hope to get everyone to one bar to hang out together between ceremony and dinner. But I guess you're right that if that doesn't work out and people go do their own thing for a bit, it's okay too.

I think we'll do the cake cutting and dance right after the ceremony, too. Also a great idea. I don't want to pay the photographer so much extra to stay for dinner, lol!

Now I just have to figure out the paperwork. I'm so confused on what has to be translated and what has to be legalized, and where to do all of the above!

Thanks Court, you got back to the girls before I did.

I've been thinking about you, and how you've been feeling. The baby is officailly taken over huh! lol

So you decided you wont find out the sex?!?!!

My wedding was origianlly for 2:30, and I also freaked out about what people were going to do. I didn't want my wedding day to be another normal day on vacation. So I had set up a time line. People had an hour free time to change shoes if they wished( for the men) and then the plan was to meet at a lobby bar, have some drinks and play a wedding game. I didn't end up needing to do it since the time changed to 6, so dinner was ready for us once the ceremony was done.

So you guys could consider doing something like this. My only concern is, if your ceremony is on the Punta Cana section, then wanting to go to the sports bar (it's on the other end of the resort) so people will have to wait for the train, no one will want to walk in the heat with maybe high heels on. so maybe consider the Punta Cana or the Palac lobby bar (all walking distance even in high heels lol)

Hemingways only opens at 6pm, so that's not an option. sad.gif

Sap, you must be gettig so excited!!! have you still been sleeping good? I know 17 days away for me I definitely wasn't lol.

We are super excited. We actually did the paperwork for the civil ceremony today, we will marry next week sometime, but no one will know. :)

Dress fittings are complete unless I lose a few more lbs, which we will see. :)

FI was a big help on Sunday with the OOT bags etc. We mailed out our pretravel flyer and luggage tags. I meant to include a hotel brochure, totally forgot so will print and mail those as well. :)

I'm not really nervous though...more excited and dreading it all coming to an end. wah! lol.

Sounds like you've got everything under control and almost ready to depart!!! :) :)

What do you have in your OOT bags? I suggest putting your hotel brochure in your OOT,will safe you on more postal fees, you'll be spending more to send thank you cards, might as well save it for then!

How many guest is coming??!?

I was wondering if anyone has more insight on booking rooms. My wedding is June 2011, the hotel still does not have their schedules that far in advance, and my guests keep hounding me. When and how are any of you booking? I wanted to send out my save the dates by September with all the resort info so people could get an early start

How do you know what section you are marrying in? Is it the same section you book your hotel room in?

I went with which ever side was cheaper for our guest, normally that is the Punta Cana Section. All our guest couldn't have been more happier!! I'd just go that route.

Not at all. If you want the new gazebo, it's on the Punta Cana section, if you want the beach there is 2 locations, Punta Cana and Bavaro side.

OH its taken over, and over and over. I've been soo sick!! We didn't get to do anything at all for Canada day, I was in bed (or throwing up) all day. And sleep, well I just can't get enough sleep at all.

Gala dinner?? Do you mean private reception?? I don't think any of us did that. Its cheaper and just as nice to have your dinner at a semi private a la carte (which you don't pay for) and then your private beach party at $9 per person.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
