Jerzshortstuff,

We stayed at Royal Suites our second week for our honeymoon, and Tracy is right - so worth it! We've decided that when we go back down south again (not necessarily the same resort), that we will be doing th upgraded service again. So worth it for us - absolutely nothing to worry about and more quiet. However, I'm happy that we stayed in the regular section the first week with all our guests. For us, it was nice that we were all so close together (we were all in the same 2 buildings), which cut down on arranging time and we hung out at one particular pool for most of the week.

The Imperial Club is an upgrade with a particular tour operator - I can't remember which one - Signature Vacations maybe, but it wouldn't apply to you anyhow since it's a Canadian Company!

And you will definitely get a restaurant! Just make sure they know your preferences and they will "try their best to accomodate you". We got exactly what we wanted - although If I did it all over again I would haven't requested the patio of La Uva but inside instead - it was really hot! We had our reception dinner at 8, and the restaurant actually seemed to be closed or something - there was no one else there, eventhough we didn't pay for a private reception.

Welcome Jerzshortstuff and congrats!

Carribbeanlover is AMAZING at giving answers -- she's been my go-to person up to this point! lol..Also, I have heard of that -- but I am confident your surgery will go smoothly and get you all better!

The ROV Ceremony is just renewal of the vows...I am doing that in 1 month. You can have the ceremony on the beach, and as mentioned there is a semi private reception!

DEH83 I'm interested to know what time your ceremony was (sorry if you alreayd answered). I want to have ours at 6 - It's currently 5:00, but I really only care about having our dinner as late as posisble (8 is perfect!!) I just want to know what to do between that time...drinks at the location, dancing I guess...but I don't know if it will fill up 2 hours! Anwyays, love to hear how your timeline went!

I forget who is leaving soon -- but I am so excited for you! Are you all packed? lol..Carribbeanlover and I think alike.

P.s. I'm still jobless so I'm home bored too -- luckily I have lots to think about, but I don't want to be an unemployed newlywed! lol

Jerzshortstuff...I am booked using the Imperial Club. It's a deal that Air Transat Vacations here in Canada has with the resort. I bet there is some American version too!!!

Carribeanlover...good luck with the surgery! I have heard of that too. Good luck with the surgery, you will do awesome!! I think I also read somewhere about a review? Can't wait to read it! (But recover from the surgery first!)

For all you Canadian ladies I hope you enjoy the May long weekend! Unluckily this is my weekend to work nights, so not so much fun for me!

Are YOU packed?!?!?!?!

Hi! We leave this Monday!! We are pretty much packed, just need to add a few last minute things and we are done! We will be there for 10 days! I can't wait. It's been cool and rainy in Chicago, funny enough the day we leave it will be gorgeous! Oh well, it won't compare to Carribean weather.

Jerz.,

Make sure to go after easter. Holy week (week before easter) Catholic countries, especially the DR and Mexico, limit the things guests can do, like no use of jet skis, no motorized boats, ect. The week after easter will probably be really busy but fun. Alot of Europeans take their "holiday" around that time. I think it will be a real fun week though. You don't want the hotel to be dead.

Thanks for the heads up! We are definitely doing AFTER Easter so hopefully many things won't be closed! I have heard about closings around Easter, but am glad to know they are the week BEFORE!

Thanks for all of the info girls! I will also look into the RST but from the looks of it I think we will be happy even if we just got the Romance Suite in the Bavaro section. I am pretty easy to please and all my FI cares about is a jacuzzi! hehe

I agree -- I would never choose to go around spring break, as a lot of people take vacation there -- but it depends on what you are looking for. I like quiet and when places aren't overly busy, but if you like a "happening" place lol..I'm sure there will be lots going on!

Those who just got back -- I wanted to ask about the rooms. I guess the standard rooms are the "deluxe" rooms, so those who stayed in the Punta Cana section, were there jacuzzis in the room (like the pictures)?

We stayed in the Punta Cana section, we had the jacuzzi in our bathroom, because our bedroom also had a little living room area, with a pull out coach.

But a few of our guests had the rooms with the jacuzzi right in the main room. I liked ours in the bathroom better cause it made more room.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
