Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Oh no!!!! that story actually hurt my heart!! I am glad you can laugh about it now -- but I was feeling how stressed you must have been! So stressful and I'm sorry it happened -- especially when you were being so nice to your friend.

On the bright side, Mike's right -- it's just a camera, underwear and shoe. And a drunken story to remember forever. I'm still so sorry though!! Way to go on the skinny dipping though -- I actually thought you had taken pictures and THEN you lost the camera, haha that would have been my luck! Ohhh man.

LOL thank god there were no 'nude' photo's on there!!! Thank god!!!!!! It's usualy my luck.. I think it's why I stop taking them LOL!!!

Yah it was real stressful, but like you said a drunk story for a life time lol.

And hey now I get all new things, that always works!

Ohhhh you have 1 month 3 weeks to go!!! It'll fly by!!

I wanna go again!!!!!!!!!!

Woo!! 1 month and 3 weeks!!!

Tracy - I meant to ask you, did your friend end up staing the whole week? or did you mike get some time alone?

Also -- ladies..I'm having a mini freak out about a veil. Originally I was not going to wear one, because the back of my dress is really detailed and I didn't want to cover it, but now I'm not sure....maybe I should wear one.

How did you find them in the wind? And where did you get them? I don't want to spend a lot of money -- I've seen them for like 60-200! Maybe I could try making one? hmm..I've never thought about a veil before lol.

No he stayed the entire week, he left the same day we did but hours later!!!!
Poor guy though.. no one expects to stay 2 weeks, no one brings enough clothes, or money.

I had a veil, My mom bought it for me, It was $150!!!!!!!!!!! I said I didn't want it, but she got it anyway. But I'm glad I had it I liked it. It was very see through so everyone still got to see all the details on my dress in the back. I maybe moved it once duirng our ceremony because of the wind. Took some photo's afterwards with it then took it off for the rest of the night. Carolina had given me flowers for my hair but they had died by then lol ah well!!
If you decided to get married on the beach I would gather it'd be more windy so maybe it wouldn't be the best thing to have. But again it's up to you, and what you want,IT'S YOUR DAY!!! you can do whatever you please!!!

I brought my own cake cutting server but I think they'd have if you didn't want to bring your own. I wanted to engrave mine, it's why I wanted my own but in the end never even got it engraved so really if it's not important to you, don't bother!!
I did bring my own cake toper (they'd supply you with one if you wanted) but I wanted something personally since everyone gets the same cake pretty much... I have no idea how many times I saw the chef drive around with a cake in his hand, and they all looked like the one I picked.

She was on time and met us at the Punta Cana lobby later that day because we had forgottent o give her some stuff. I really woudln't worry about it. She seemed quite organized as well!

We didn't have any issues with getting our stuff back. I think though it was because our room was so close to the gazebo. We were in the 4000 block with the room looking right onto the Gazebo and ocean, so it was probably easier for them to just drop the stuff off there than to drive it back to their office. All our stuff was in our room when we came back after the reception. But just to be sure, label all your stuff if you can! They have a lot going on there!
That's comforting to hear!! Both of us speak Spanish so at least that won't be an issue. I guess I just got used to emailing Carolina and hearing about her on the forum that I freaked out when she said she'd be gone for a few weeks.
Since the resort is super huge, can any of the April brides point out what they think are the best spots please? I keep hearing Hemmingways so I'll keep that one in mind. Any other must-sees?

Hi girls --

Did you get your hair done there or do it yourself? I was planning on doing it myself, but I am thinking about hair spray and making sure it stays put - I may look into having it done.

I remember there was a link to a price list floating around somewhere - does anyone know where that is>

Thanks!! lots of q's I know.

I did my hair at the spa, cost $90 plus tip. Some girls on here payed $130 because they reserved on line. I don't suggest doing that. I think it depends on what you want done, shouldn't be more then $110.

I've lost the price list, but it doesn't effect you anyway, they'll charge what they feel when you bring in a pic of the style you want.

I brought all the stuff for my sand ceremony, 3 vases, 2 colors of sand. And I used Lindsay's (seaprincess) sand ceremony reading and got my girlfriend to read it. We did it right after we made everything legal. (and the Judge went running off to the next wedding. lol)
But like I said if you want your stuff back, make sure you put a family member in charge of getting your stuff before everyone leaves and the next wedding gets set up.

I got my hair done at the spa. (AMAZINGGG) but they charge you whatever they feel like. I paid $122 plus tip. I also had a veil because my mom wanted me to and I'm really glad I did if that helps you at all. It really didn't bother me at all.

I only brought my cake topper. It made it sooo much more personal. But they do have a little bride and groom to put on it. The cake is beautiful. I will post a pic of my cake. And they brought us the serving things. Its really just extra weight you don't need. Use theirs. You may not get yours back sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
