Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

Dawn, I added you on FB so I can creep on on your pictures!! lol

Isabelle, They lost one of my vases and my cd, I only got my sand ceremony and the other 2 vases because I went to her office and asked for them, she gave me the sand ceremony and then had the rest sent to my room, which I didn't get and had to track her down after another wedding and ask her for my stuff, which she sent to "my room" when it was actually at the reception in the lobby. And my cd and vases was missing, which sucks cause I took them out of my reception vases. Oh well, somebody is enjoying my cd! lol

My AHR is tomorrow............ughhhh...We spent all of today getting ready for it, we decorated from 9:30am to 6:30pm...........I'm dead tired sad.gif So that being said, I'm off to bed

the day after the wedding I had an excursion, so I went to see Carolina the next day to get all my stuff, she only had my beach bag with her, she didn't have my vases from my sand ceremony and didn't know where my official vase was, she said she would look into that during the day and send it ot my room, sine I was leaving the day after. I got to my room at around 6pm, nothing there, and she finished work at 4pm, so after dinner I went looking for ti on my own,
I went to the reception to see if thay had any info on it, Ramirez did some call for me after 1 hour he said that Joselito at punta cana had it, got to punta cana receptipn he only had my cake sad.gif
I crossed a another bride that I knew, told her my story and she told me to go look in the chapel, that is where she found one of her things missing, so I went I found my box and my vases of y sand ceremony, but not my official vase.
I decided to go to the La Uva last place I ever saw my sand vase, good thing I had my box with the picture on it, cause thay have no clue of want I'm talking about, the captain tells me tht thay sent it to my beach party, not true, is confused, and then a waitress arrives and tells him something in spanish, she saw it and kinda knows where it is, but at the end, no one knows where it is, he tells me I'll send the info to the recpetion the next morning.
So next morning I go to the palace reception, no news, he tells me to go to punta cana recpetion no news they call Carolina in her room cause it's 7h30am and I'm leaving at 8h30 she tells me that my vase was at my beach party, I repaet myself, that it never got to the beach party, she apologize and tells me that she will make some call's AGAIN.
anyways the story end's with that thay have no clue of where it is, thay will still look for it, and if thay find it, thay will ship it to me, so qill see about that. My husband was really upset, cause this was really significative for us sad.gif
but like I said, it was the only negative thing, at least we have pictures of it at the restaurant :)
sorry for my long story I guess I needed to vent at the same time lol

Have a good time at your AHR tomorrow :)

Hi Tracy! Welcome back! We got a bottle of rum and a fruit plate the evening of the wedding. We were supposed to have the breakfast in bed that we had selected for the next morning but it never arrived. Also... did you have to pay for the steaming of your dress? I thought it was part of the package but we were billed for it on checkout. I have to double check that one.

Hi all!

I actually just looked up steaming - and unfortnately it's not part of the package, it's extra and the price depends on the dress (15-85 or something?).

Glad you both are back - Dawn your Wedding pics are amazing on facebook. It looks like you had a great time, and you look stunning!

Tracy - your pictures are also amazing, I am so excited for the TTD after seeing your pictures. Was it fun? How long did you have the photographer for? We only booked him for an hour - I hope that's enough time.

I have some questions if anyone can answer them!

1) For those who had a photographer - how long did you have them for the day of hte wedding? I booked HDC for 2 hours on the wedding day - I would like to have some before pictures (in the room, getting ready, ceremony set up etc.), then during the ceremony and then instead of doing group photos - I want prof pictures of our first dance, father daughter dance etc... Do you think this will be enough time?

2) What did you do for music at the ceremony - we have songs for the aisle, and then our subsequent dances (in the gazebo hopefully) that we will need speakers for - what did you use?

3) What restaurant did you have your dinner at? La Uva? Is it nice - how did they set it up with decorations or anything?

4) What was the cake like -- did you just pick the flavor, and colors? Was there enough cake for everyone?

5) How did the timeline of the day go - Our ceremony is at 5:00pm, so I am hoping the beach will be less busy - our dinner will be around 7 - we will have the dances and some drinks between the ceremony/dinner.

6) What did you do after the reception dinner? How long was your dinner - We will need somewhere to go after the dinner, and I'm not sure what to do/plan.

Woah! I have more -- but this is enough for now! thanks so much girls! Tracy, can I send a friend request on facebook to see the pics? Dawn's are amazing!!! So pretty~

Dawn,

See, I got the basket of fruit upon arrival. But nothing on the wedding day. We did get breakfest tho. But I was so hung over we couldn't even eat!!

The dress steaming isn't part of the package tho. I just finish looking through it. So probably the gift was a bottle of rum? still doesn't make since, cause the package says 'bakset of fruit and rum on arrival in room' then at the end of the list it says 'gift'

I will email Carolina, and ask her why we didn't get these things. In hope she is will to do something for our return, which would probably be for our anniversary.

Just a little annoying these things were suppose to be given as part of our wedding package. UGH how frustrating!!!

Dawn, Congrats btw!! we completely missed each other sad.gif but hopefully we all decided we want to go for our anniversary at the same resort, and we could meet up again, with less guest to worry about

Sungodes,

1) if you booked with HDC, did you get the package? Crystal one? I did. it's for 3 hours and you get an hour with him when you get ready (Well your pretty much ready when he comes, you just pretend to get ready) then he will go fast to get some pics of the groom/groomsmen waiting for you to come (thats what I choice, but you can choose a half hour with you and half hour with the FI when his getting ready)

Then you have ceremony, which is only 15 mins, max 20. He will get all those photos. Then you walk back as a married couple, what we did too is have our first dance right after we had a toast as married couple.

Then we went onto the beach had a the parents and bridal party. Then we did our alone photos. But we got married at 6 so were losing light. SO he came back to the reception and got the cutting of the cake and 4 group shots.

Was plenty enough got 300 pics.

2)Carolina has a guy with a sound system there. So just give her the cds in order of how you want them played. (real easy and simple she'll take care of it)

3)I had the dinner at La Uva (I have no idea where Courtney was) we were suppose to have it on the patio but it was to ready so we had a part of the resto while a few other dinners were on the other end, to be honest I don't even remember them there, there weren't in our eye sigh. No decor, but I brought centerpieces with seashell candle holders and candles. She scattered them around the long table (I wanted 3 tables and a head table ,but she only got my bags full of wedding stuff to late. In the end tho it was perfect just having 1 table)

DO NOT PICK THE CHICKEN IN THE PASTA go for the steak or anything else. Mine was horrible. But other then that food was good.

4)cake was amazing, and so tasty, just not up my nose where Mike got it!! I will be uploading the ceremony pictures at one point today, and I'll be sure to send you the link and you'll see everything. yup you pick the flavour, round or square, if you want ribbon, you pick the colour. thats it!

5)we got married at 6, we did the ceremony, toast, pictures, while we did are alone pics guest went to the restaurant to be seated. then after dinner we went directly to the beach party which is right next to LA Uva

Which dance are you talking about in-between the ceremony and dinner?!

6)I say go for the beach party $9p/p for the open bar (but it'll just be you and your guest) and I hired the DJ $250 it was the best wedding has ever gone to, and worth every single penny.

I'm here for any questions!!

Thank you so much!!

We got the fruit and rum basket the night we arrived, nothing on the wedding day, we did get breakfast in bed the next morning, which was 30 minutes late, but we didn't mind cause we were sooooo hungover sad.gif The eggs were the most grossest thing I have ever had in my life, which makes no sense cause at the buffet they were amazing! werid eh?

They charged me $15 for the steaming of my dress which was well worth it cause it was bad from being stuffed in that garment bag! lol

Sungodess, I had Michael Weiler and we didn't have to book him for a certain amount of time, he only does 1 wedding per day so you have him for as long as it takes him to get the job done. He came 2 hours before the ceremony, took pictures of both of us getting ready, the whole ceremony, the cake cutting, first dance, group/family photos and a session with the wedding party and just us. He was amazing, he is one of the nicest people I have ever met! The package we got was $1000, and we got over 500 pictures all edited on a dvd plus the most beautiful book I have ever seen :) He was better then all of my friends photographers at home!! :) We had soooo many comments on his photos at our AHR!!

Which I have to say, I'm so glad all my wedding stuff is over!! I can have my life back!! lol

Isabelle, I wouldn't hold your breath on them sending your sand ceremony to you. They don't give a poop. Which is so sad sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
