HAhahahahahaha...After I screamed that to you, I was like shit, all her guests probably heard me!!! hahahahah

I wish we got to stay a few extra days but I was happy to come home as well. There were so many of us that we didn't get any alone time and by the end of the week I was ready to scream because of the guys, was telling everybody what they should be doing. Making sure we all went to supper together and all that sort of thing. I just felt like saying, dude, I'm on vacation, leave me the hell alone!! I will eat supper when and where I damn well feel like it!!!!!!!!!! urgghhhhh!!!!

And Carolina!!!!! well, I can't even begin to tell you how amazing she is! Although, I didn't get one of my vases and my cd back. The whole rest of the week I heard weddings jammin' to my cd!! hahaha I guess they needed it. lol

Tracy, you'll have to send me the picture of my dad and fam!! Thats so funny, he told me he was talkin to your mom, He would talk to a frog if that was the only thing around, he's to funny!!

I hope you get lots of sun this week, cause we didn't get a whole lot last week. I did hear on sunday it wasn't suppose to be very nice this week, I hope it stays nice for you!!!! xxooxoxoxoxx

Hi Girls! I am back from the wedding! What a beautiful resort, Carolina was great, the wedding was fabulous and it was the perfect wedding in paradise! Tracy, was happy to meet you in the lobby on your first day. Saw you walk by a few times but unfortunately did not get to the meet and greet as some of our guests were leaving that day and we wanted to spend time with everyone before they left. Girls... there is absolutely nothing to worry about with Carolina... she is on the ball and works her little butt off. I have a copy of the menu selections (assuming they always offer the same choices) We chose the beef medallions from Arecife restaurant and they were absolutely fantastic. All our guests commented that this was by far the best meal of the week (and the food in the restaurants is pretty awesome).

I have photos on Facebook. Here is a link (hope it works) Let me know if it doesn't.

I had to send you a friend request, too. Hope you don't mind! :)

So many congratulations! Your profile picture on FB is so pretty! I can't wait to read and hear all about it!

For you and/or anyone else who just returned, I do have a couple of questions:

Did you do the beach party? Was it worth the extra cost?

Who was your photographer and how did that go?

Did you use the salon services? How much was it and were you satisfied?

Did you do a legal ceremony? We are doing the legal ceremony and I'm so confused on the paperwork. I can't figure out if all of the documents (birth certificates, passports, passports of witnesses and single status affidavit) has to be translated AND legalized, or if just some of them do.

Hi Dana! Accepted your friend request on FB so you can see some of the photos.

We did the beach party. We had the legal ceremony with the judge at the gazebo. It was great and went smoothly. We had to have all the documents you are referring to, translated and legalized at the DR Embassy here in Ottawa. Then we brought the paperwork to Carolina. I think the ones that were legalized by them were my fiances divorce papers because he had been married previously. But you bring everything with you and the embassy puts the legal stamp on whatever needs it.

We chose not to have a photographer so that shots you will see are just from family and friends. However, my cousins boyfriend came and offered to take photos and do a wedding album for us as a wedding gift. He was with us a good part of the day and he also took photos of everyone at dinner, etc. Cant wait to see his shots.

The beach party I felt was worth it. Dont worry about decor as it is just the plastic tables and chairs but everyone was up dancing and they had decorated the entrance to the beach with white fabric and we had our white and turquoise flowers around. But you dont need decor for that. We also had the dj for $250. He was great. I brought our first dance on a cd. Also, several of us had our ipods and he just used the music we had so it was good. It rained on us for 15 minutes at 11:30. No one cared as they either took cover or many of the kids and teenagers went in the water and then kept dancing. It all cleared up and you only have the beach until 12 so it worked out perfect.

My finances cousin from England is a hair stylist and she did my hair. I did have the Spa there do my makeup and they did an excellent job. I was very red on my nose and cheeks from the sun and they blended my tan so that the photos would not make me look like Rudolph. I highly recommend them. It cost me $56.

We were fortunate to have the wedding at 6 pm. Then we had drinks and took a few shots on the beach. We simply had to walk two minutes across the lawn for dinner at La Uva at 7. Then we did the cake cutting after dinner so that guests could eat the cake for dessert if they wanted. We went to the beach right there so there was absolutely no walking all over the place, which worked out great for older relatives.

Hi everyone, congrats to all the newlyweds :)

I just got back last night, I had a amazing week, wish I was still there, it's so cold here hahaha

I also missed the meeting, I was still trying to find my way hahaha the resort is so big, spent most of my time in the royal and palace section :)

Carolina is really good, she know's what she's doing. the only negative thing I have to say, is that my heart shaped vase of my sand ceremony is lost somewhere sad.gif but they are still looking for it, and will send it to me when tehy find it.

I had the beach party, we had a blast. Wouldn't do it any other way, it was really awesome, it is already decorated and all.

Half of my group was upgraded in the royal section, the other half had children with them so they had to stay in the palace section, it was a bit dissapointing at first to be separated, but I didn't want to miss out on the royal section.

We were a group of 25, so it was hard to see everyone so on the second day, I went and saw David the butler and after 2 hours of hard work on both side LOL, I was able to have reservation for all of my group for every night at all the different a la carte restaurants.

we did two excursions, the marinarium (snorkeling with sharks and sting rays) and the dune buggies, my personal favorite (drive in the mud) LOL

I'm trying to get all my info in order lol the future brides, if you have any questions, fell free to ask :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
