Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

I'm so excited and happy. We finally heard back from Carolina confirming our wedding date for November 16! We got everything booked yesterday. Woo-hoo! The best part of yesterday for me though was how excited my fiance was. I swear he was more excited than I was. It was so sweet.

That's good you heard from Carolina and got it confirmed!!

I got some really bad news today sad.gif My grandmother has breast cancer and needs to get her breast removed. They made a deposit for our trip, but obviously will be unable to attend. I am devestated and feel guilty because we had a falling out a few years ago. I called my TA and left a message, I just hope there won't be a problem getting their deposit back -- that would be crazy if they didn't give it to them! sad.gif
I am sooo sorry to hear about your Grandmother, my prayer's are with you and your family. I just know she'll be able to pull through this.
I know it sucks she isn't coming, maybe you can spend the little extra and have it video taped by a photographer, and you can give it to them, almost like they didn't miss it.
I know it doesn't look like it now, but I am sure everything will come together in the end.
I can relate, last year when I started planning, my dad fell ill, into a coma for 5 months, I compeletly stopped planning, and wasn't willing to do anything until he was ok.
But his ok, his even coming (just to show you, it will work out!!!)

Soooooo annoying and stressfull. I know what you mean, don't say one thing and mean another when you she said 'you can confirm the beach party upon arrival' but then she said it was getting booked up!!
At least we got it confirmed!!
Are you using a DJ?

Sungodes,
I'm sorry to hear about the huge price drop!!! Let us know what your TA had to say (this is exactly why I don't like using them, they wanted my guest to book almost a year before the trip, knowing very well the prices drop)

Me too I'm a little confused, as you need to have the embassy legalize your birth certificate and your single status.
What exactly did you do with your papers,Danielle?

Congrats msredbird51 for finally getting your date confirmed!!! woohooo!!
a little bit of a relief huh!! wink.gif

Well from the e-mail I received from Carolina, the message is saying that you need to translate the birth certificate and not legalize it. The declaration of single status needs to be translated and legalized....just to make sure I just sent an e-mail to Carolina to double check.....the lady at the embassy told me that some resort require the legalization of the birth certificate and some don't, so from the Carolina's e-mail I might have got the wrong info.....I'll let ya know...

I don't think you should worry -- they wouldn't overbook, this is what she does. She didn't have me "confirm" - I mentioned that we were interested but would need to make a final decision when we get down there, so she said that's fine. She put us down for the beach party, and we can confirm/cancel when we arrive.

I believe they have enough equipment between the 4 hotels to cover 2 beach parties, so I would not stress.

Hi Sungoddess, I have a FANTASTIC seamstress in Whitby which might be better for you than going into Toronto. Let me know if you want the info. My alterations cost $282 but she added on a beautiful halter and I had quite a bit of beading that she had to work with and also shorten the dress. I couldn't be happier with what she did for me, so let me know if you still need someone!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
