Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

The private reception was $1000 for unlimited guests. We thought about having a beach reception, but without knowing in advance how many people were coming, and at $60/head, we needed to be able to budget in advance.

The cost of DJ seemed reasonable, but that's probably b/c I'm in north Jersey and it's really expensive here.

You'll get married first before going? already have a date plan for this?

Not yet! June sometime!:) We're going to be low key about it, we want the Punta Cana ceremony to be the "real" deal for us! It was just a lot easier, and since I'm finishing up school I didn't want to have to worry about sending docs to be translated, and all that stuff. So this is perfect!

I am getting more and more excited though! I wish mine was in April too!! Are you packing yet? lol

I am not sure just how much to trust Itravel right now as we said if we finally didn't get an answer today we were complaining to the wrong full business department of the gov. So are they trying to get a few extra days, or are they being honest about the room situation. I just don't know what to believe.
Can I elope from my destination wedding? lol I wish I could sometimes.

It's amazing living near a consulate for DR, me too i wasn't even in their office for a half hour. I got my single status notarized by the city hall for $5.
and legal and translated by the consulate of Montreal.
I sent it to Carolina, along with the wedding form (with our flight time, how many guest, and some of our info with our fathers name, did you all send that to her too?) She said thank you very much for sending to me.. but yet she never told me she needed it I just sent it anyway! Thank god I did.

Decor: I decided the only thing I am doing, is bring centerpieces and glass seashell candle holders to go around the flower centerpiece. For the chair shash I'll just see what they have as my colours are aqua and baby yellow.
I'm doing the private beach party after dinner, Carolina said it gets decorated with ticki torche and all, so i wont need any decor for that.
The ceremony, from all the pictures, it looks perfect don't really need to decorate for that, looks like Carolina does a great job

what do you plan on doing for decor?

Tracy,
We are doing the beach party too. I had originally reserved with the wedding planner to have the Bohio (?) restaurant on the beach but now she says that its an additional $1000 and the beach party is lovely so we are just doing that. I asked the travel agent to get me pictures of the beach party but she hasn't yet. I would love to see how it is decorated.

Nonnie... if you have any photos of the beach party, please post. We'd love to see what the set up was like.

As for my decor, so far, since I dont want to cart heavy glass there, I found some clear plastic trays (small and square that look like glass) and am playing with either a candle in the middle with coloured sea glass around OR a silk flower in the middle. Still looking for that. Once I perfect something I will have to post for everyone's opinion. If anyone needs these after, you are welcome to them. Because my bridesmaids are in Cobalt blue with my jr bridesmaid in blue and turquoise, the sea glass should look okay.

Here's a question for everyone... my dress is Ivory. Girls are in Cobalt blue. FI is now thinking of either white shirt with sand dockers or royal shirt that matches the girls dresses, with sand dockers. Should the guys be wearing the royal and he wear the white or the other way around? Or should all the guys including FI wear the royal? Ugh.. what to do, what to do!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
