Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering the same thing!! I feel like I have lots of questions that have already been talked about. But it's one of those things, that until it crosses your mind -- you don't necessarily think about lol.

I am wondering about after the ceremony mostly - I am hoping to keep our time of 5pm, so dinner will be around 7:00-7:30ish? But then I am not sure what to do after -- I dont want people to call it a night, but I also don't want to spend the extra $$ on a private beach party.

Oh the decisions.

Sungodess, we're having our ceremony at 5pm as well. I wanted it later so the evening could all flow together nicely without breaks in between events. We're having dinner at 8pm, so we will have a cocktail hour at the gazebo after the ceremony where we'll do the cake cutting and get more pictures done, then head to dinner. By having dinner at 8, we should be done around 10 and we will be heading to the Disco at the resort. We're having about 35 people at the wedding, and I didn't want to pay the extra for a private reception, but also, I think it will be a lot of fun to go to the disco with my group. This way too, the dinner is late enough that the older folks like my grandma won't feel so bad calling it a night after the dinner. She's 80, so it would be a lot on her to try and make it the whole night.

aaahh!! my ceremony is at 2:30!!!!!!!! so what I did was...

2:30 -3 ceremony/sand ceremon

3:15 cut caking and toast (right now even sure if that is where we cut the cake)

And then picures for the next hour.

I am then allowing people free time to go relax in their room. Back to a lobby bar for 4:30-5pm for cocktails and games. Then dinner at 6 (put I heard now dinner may not be until 7!!) we will be starved.

Horrible time for a wedding sad.gif

I am not sure -- I have a confirmed time because I have been really firm about what I want. We are having a renewal of the vows ceremony, so no Priest is needed. I have been firm with her so I'm hoping that it will stay put at 5pm. I don't want anything earlier. Dno't worry though once you get down there the time you want may change. I know the week we were in Cuba, it rained EVERY DAY at 5:00pm, so I would want my time changed if that were the case. It's all weather and location realted -- but you never know! :)

Side note: Is anyone doing a TTD / having arnaud come on Friday, April 16th? I thought cherrybomb was also using HDC, and personally, I don't think we both should have to pay for them to be there if it's the same block of time!

I was worried about the wristbands too, glad to hear that's taken care of!
I am using HDC on the 16th and have them booked for 6 hours. Carolina tentatively confirmed a 4pm ceremony for me, but I know we booked Arnaud for photos and videos before the ceremony and after. Then Arnaud is coming back 2 days later for the TTD session.

I was under the impression, and still am, that the judge has certain times available during the day- my wedding is at 3 pm. Originally our wedding was going to be at the Barcelo Resort and I had secured the same time and date at that hotel, when I switched to the GP I had the choice of either 10 am on the 19th(our wedding date) or a different day because my original booking hadn't been cancelled at the Barcelo resort- when it wa I was able to get the original date and time I had wanted. I imagine when Carolina says the time might change it is probably because the judge is travelling to and from different ceremonies through out the day, all may not be at the same resort.

However, frustrating that is because you book a photographer for a certain allocation of time, for me 3 hrs, so if the ceremony is running late that cuts into the time we have planned for photo op's afterwards...

I like the ease of a destination wedding, and it has been relativly smooth to plan- expect I am frustrated that we are unable to make decisions until we arrive in the DR... anyone else feel the same?? if so, how are you dealing... or have you made any progress with Carolina in this area??

what is her NEW e--mail or contact?? it seems to change all the time

ONLY 2 more months!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
