For the ceremony, I plan to buy fans and decorate them with purple ribbon or something like that.

Is anyone planning to buy/make fans for the ceremony? I'd love to hear some ideas.

Ohh that'll be nice the engraved shot glass. And the candle holder.. do you plan on doing OOT bags as well?

I got fan for the girls, and shot glass for the guys.. but they will be in the OOT bags. And for the dinner favour I'll probably just go with mints but have the wrapper or ribbon say 'Mint to be'

I just got some horrible news. The resort is fully booked for our week. All our guest at the moment can't book their trip. SO the only people so far coming are my parents, FI's parents and a friend from Ireland. I am so heart crush and frustrated I have no idea what to do. I don't want my guest staying at another resort.. Defeats the whole bloody purpose. I just want to cry!!
Everyone getting married our week, did all of your guest book?

Courtney, My parents in law are from Halifax and they booked their trip today.. they weren't able to fly through NS they have to go to T.O and then go to DR from there. Have all your guest book?

NO! I am soo sorry to hear that. I can't believe it....thats one of the worst outcomes. When were your guests planning on booking, like soon or were they waiting??

Can they come a different day than you? Like - a few days before or after, but still be there for the wedding.

That's what some of ours are doing.

It truly is..

Yes I don't mind if they go few days before or after us, we weren't planning on everyone coming the same day.. My parents are coming a day after us, Fi's parents the same day also another guest the same day and 2 guest a day before us.

Right now there is only 1 day left avaiable for the resort (april 8th) which is 2 days before us (which is fine) but my MOH and BestMan are only able to book in March,so is another Bridesmaid.

I let another guest know about the situation hopefully she'll book tomorrow!!

I am mostly disapointed for my MOH because I know the rooms that are avaiable now wont be in march. sad.gif

Yeehaw! it's coming fast ladies! I am getting marriedon the 12th but I think there is someone on the Friday before me... actually I am on the flight with her and her party on the 7th. I can't remember who it is (sorry!) Will have to go back and check.

Well gals... I had a great wedding week... we found bridesmaid dresses (very simple at Sears of all places!) Originally my wedding colours were turquoise and white but these dresses are cobalt blue so I have just switched the colours to seaglass... will use turquoise, cobalt and chartreuse.. love it!

We also found the wedding bands yesterday. Ended up buying them at People's at St. Laurent in Ottawa. Mine is the band that matches my engagement ring and Doug's is white gold with three small diamonds and brushed gold on the top. I will try to post pictures. Now I am back trying to work on placecards and do seating arrangements. My wedding planner/travel agent here told me the tables are either of 4 or 6. Nonnie... did you guys move the tables around or did you request that everyone sit together? I noticed long tables in your photos. Did you do placecards?

Ladies... we are getting married in less then 3 months! EEK!

Tracy,
Is every section of the resort booked or just the section you are in? As far as I know all of our guests are in the Punta Cana section. Although most of them have booked, I do have a friend whose husband works for Air Canada so she is booking later. She told me yesterday that she had checked and there are lots of rooms at the resort left. I don't know if she would be in the same section, but if she is in one of the 3 sections, I think its fine.

I hope your bridesmaids can book soon!

I am talking about all the sections.. they are all booked except for the 8th.

So I am trying to rush people into booking now for the 8th (2 days before we arrive) but at least we'll all be in the same hotel and they'll be there for the wedding.

As of last night I also thought there were a lot of rooms left. But there isn't not for the week of the 10th to 17th..

Only date seriously free now I even called a TA and it's April 8th. So you might want to tell your guest that as well.

oh no Tracy frown.gif

I was so afraid of that happening, that I obligated my guest to book in october LOL

So I guest your gonna put a rush on your guest to book for the 8th... I hope everything will workout for you.

One of my GM is military, and just learned that he has to leave for Haiti this week, he just got back from afghanistan 2 months ago frown.gif so now were joking and saying that is just as to cross over the border to come to the wedding if ever is not back LOL

Tracy, I'm so sorry to hear about your guests issues with no rooms. I'm have the opposite problem which I'm freaking out about now. We Put deposits down for a particular amount of guests, and now a couple of them have backed out leaving us with extra seats that we may lose our deposits on and our free seat insentive.

It was a gamble to trust these people and I guess we made the wrong choice. Now I suppose we will need to scrape up some more money in our budget! The bigges stress of this whole thing has been coordinating guests, for sure.

Thank guys for everyone's supportive and kind words.

So after a lot of research I finally came to the realization that it's not the resort that is fully booked.. it's the flight's and packages.

So I figured other ways for guest to book until these tour operator's start buying more package's.

I'm getting them to book through the website of the resort, and then getting a flight a la car let's say..it pretty much comes up to the same thing maybe a couple of $ more.

I am so happy again lol. Now I must go let all my guest know.

Isabelle, I am so sorry to hear about your GM.. my MOH's nephew is leaving Tuesday as well to go to Haiti.. It's horrible your GM just got home and already has to go, but they really need our help. I am so glad we can say we know someone who IS helping. I wish I could but they would never allow me with my health issues. sad.gif

DEH83,

Your seats are they leaving from Ottawa or Montreal?

And which day are they to leave on?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
