As for hotel sponsored group activities, I am wondering is you could email the concierge and they might be able to provide you with a listing of activities. Their email is concierge@dreamscancun.com.mx.

I do agree that both Daniella and Claudia can be pretty vague with their answers but it makes me wonder if they are understanding what they are being asked. I dont know if there is a language barrier there. Just my two cents :)

I thought that there may be a language barrier also, but I don't think that is the reason why they handle all things so poorly. My concern is their lack of consistancy. I have read through a bunch of threads where the WC responses to different brides conflict. Some weddings they have demanded a deposit where others they didn't want any money until arrival; they tell one bride she can have outside vendors and they tell another she can't; ect. Also I feel like the website package information is lacking information and is a bit deceitful, as we have seen from the whole picture incident. I want to be possitive and it is helpful to see that while so many other brides have had similar issues with the WC at Dreams Cancun yet still had a fabulous wedding, but I don't want to be one that ends up with a horror story.

I'm sure you won't but I feel exactly the same, maybe once May is over they will start communicating properly, I think they are really busy at the mo.

You'll have back up anyway there are at least another 2 of us there at the same time and we'll gang up on the WC lol

Seriously, I was looking at Juan's pictures, I hate his negative effects! I would just ask for all color and tune it myself if I want effects... XP
He does overuse photoshop in some pictures. It's so much fun that it's easy to do that. I overphotoshop stuff all the time. I would ask for no effects too. Then you should have some nice pictures.

6. Do you have any ideas, for a group activity. We want to plan an event for all of our guests that is fun for all ages, and not overly expensive. Any ideas??

the hotel offers activities during the day.

WTF.... Why are they so vague?

Ha Ha! My WC answers stuff like this too. It's like its a telegraph & she is paying by the word. It would be nice if they just put the answers to all the common questions together.

Someone mentioned claudia being booked. Check on Citalli or Erick. They are both very good.

I'm really surprised dreams is limiting it this much. It is not as bad as other hotels because atleast they have a good option, but I think they should put more photographers on their list.

I'm NOT a big fan of Juan's photography and Claudia Rodrigez hasnt contacted me in 3 weeks!!

If they do i've got someone I want to use to, here is the email she sent me though so i don't think you can. I agree tho i'm not keen on either one of the ones we can use to be honest.

4. I note you now do not allow outside vendors, which photographs do you allow?

Here's the email - don't think you can get it any clearer

Claudia

I really need the answers to these questions, I love your hotel and I do want my wedding there, but as I mentioned before the photograph position is worrying me to the point where I am re-considering my venue.

1. On the package on the Dreams website, when I originally asked for information in January, it was 50 photographs in the Ultimate Wedding Package and that was still the position when I sent you the Q&A in February and even today it still says 50 photographs. It does not say ceremony only on there anywhere. Why has that now changed to ceremony only? Other people that have booked at the same time and the same package have been advised that it is for pictures after the ceremony and some on the beach and around the hotel. Why is mine different when we are paying the same price?

the photographer service is just for @ 40 minutes.

Thanks for that Juan - I think you need to speak to Claudia, she is telling people we get you for 40 mins max and we get 50 pictures!! I nearly went to another resort because of this, so it might be an idea to tell her she's wrong!

Thanks I really appreciate the clarification - if you give me your email address I'll contact you direct so that we can get it nailed down. Once again thanks smile03.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
