    That just stinks! What horrible service. I'm sorry this happened to you. My sister was just looking at the Marriott for a book of rooms. I'll be sure to tell her about your experience with them. I hope you find something better!

      Oh Yari, I am so sorry about this.. is not fair! I am working with the Velas Vallarta and her Group Manager is lovely and sweet and very helpful!!! if you are interested PM. Anyway I have my finger crossed for you!

          Truly sorry to hear about that for you - terrible. I have stayed at that Marriott several times, plus our next visit to PV and stay will be there in April when we head down for our pre-wedding planning weekend. Even met with one of the sales guys last September when I first inquired about our wedding (wasn't even engaged at that point). Never have had a problem there - ever. They've been great to work with for our wedding - the week after yours. I hope it works out for you!

              Horrible!!!! I'm so sorry that they did this to you! I can't believe that they'd even admit their reasons for releasing a verbally (and supposedly contractually on the way) commitment to you. I'm sure they thought that they were going to get more money with more people, so I'd be sure to remind that location--and corporate-- that they are losing you as customers as well as any of us on here who sympathize with you!! Makes me sick that they would do that to you and I'm sorry : (

                OMG are you kidding!?!?! They are complete a-holes for doing that, why on earth would they just give up your rooms??!?! Bigger party my ass, thats no reason to just give the rooms away- sounds like maybe someone f'ed up and didnt do their job.

                ##$@$@!&!*%$&! I would def not let this go! And the fact that your FI deals with them so often, omg. Keep calling and DEMAND until you get what you want, tell them you're not happy, you're going to call friggin CNN. omg I'd be freakin out! im really sorry you're even dealing with this!!!!!!

                  I am so freaked out still. I cried last night when I was going to sleep and my FI is worried. I really wanted to stay at the Marriott and I told him that I just want this to be over. He sent a nasty email to the Director of Events and is now going to the GM. He will go to corporate next week.

                  how many rooms do you need? have you thought of just NOT doing a group block and just have your guests start booking right away?
