It's actually split, but it appears more family

We have 8 friends booked and 20 family members (1 vendor too:))

If it weren't for us paying for our 8 friends (bridal party) I'm not sure any of our friends would be coming. Even though all of them have always said they'd 'be there.' Yeah. Right.

We have quite a few people who are saying they will come who haven't booked a darn thing yet. Out of the people who did book, we have 24 guests. 9 are family, the other 15 are friends (our family is seriously sucking on this.... SERIOUSLY disappointing sad.gif)

Unlike a few of you who have posted, our friends have always said they're coming, so have our family. Our family have backed out A LOT (Reggie's parents are each 1 of 9, ONE of his aunt's is coming... I'm VERY close with my aunts (2)/uncles (3)/cousins (4), and only 1 aunt & 1 uncle are making the trip) but the friends are staying true to their word.

23 are booked thus far and I think it will end with around 55-60 guests in total. Almost all of my friends are planning to go than family, and FI has almost all his family going and very little friends. How odd!

Heidi & KellyandMatt08: I thought I was the only one who had very little family going! I think it's only going to be my parents, brother, and 4 cousins...

We invited tons of his family (his parents are each one of six siblings!) but only a few on my side; my friends more than make up the difference. =) Quite of few of his aunts and uncles can't go, which we expected, so I think that we're actually going to be something like 80% friends:20% family. Maybe a total of about 60 guests?

I've always said that our friends ARE our family, and they're totally proving us right. It's what we want, really. All the people we love more than anything in the world, and they're all going to be in one place, with nothing to do other than relax, for days on end. Whee!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
