Royale Playa Del Carmen anyone been?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

My fiance and I got engaged at the Royal in Aug. 2007. WE LOVED IT!!!!

We are considering getting married there, but, want to look at other places just to compare. The rooms there are amazing...jacuzzi in every room, very clean and big! The food was good...many choices, which we liked. The beach was also very clean and nice! Also, it is in walking distance to downtown PDC, which I think is key. Although we only left the resort 1 out of 6 nights, it was nice to have another option close by.

My only concern about it for a wedding is that I don't think it's as private as other resorts. When we were there, we watched a wedding go on as we were laying at the beach. Not sure if that's the same for other places. Perhaps there is a way around thishuh.gif Need to find out more...

I hope that helps!

I'll be getting married there in about 15 days! I did a site visit with my sister last summer and we were completely sold after that.

The service is top notch, the rooms are beautiful, and the location is unbeatable.

All my guests are really excited to be staying and celebrating there.

Rhonda is right about the lack of privacy for the wedding ceremony if you have it outside at the gazebo or on the beach. (I'm getting married at the nearby church and doing the cocktail and reception at the beach.) I watched part of a very small wedding ceremony at the gazebo while I was hangout at the resort. I got all teary and congratulated the bride and groom afterwards and lots of people (not part of the wedding like me) were clapping. They were so happy!

I just got married there on March 1st and as I have told everyone, it was AMAZING! I couldn't have imagined it better. The resort is spectacular and you are truly treated like royalty! We were married on the beach at 2pm, cocktails after in the garden until 4pm and then dinner/reception back on the beach at 5pm. Take a look at my slideshow and let me know if I can help in any way: Becky and Brian

I have been to several resorts in Mexico and this one is by far my favorite for many of the same reasons Rhonda listed - AMAZING rooms, good beach, amazing location, etc. I've been twice so far and definitely plan to go back! In fact this is what got me and my FI thinking about a DW. Unfortunately we want kids to come so it was out due to that. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
