    As the subject asks,
    Has anyone been?
Id love to hear about your experiences.

Im likely changing resorts and want something with a good beach, good food and drinks, adult only, etc.

My fiance and I got engaged at the Royal in Aug. 2007. WE LOVED IT!!!!
We are considering getting married there, but, want to look at other places just to compare. The rooms there are amazing...jacuzzi in every room, very clean and big! The food was good...many choices, which we liked. The beach was also very clean and nice! Also, it is in walking distance to downtown PDC, which I think is key. Although we only left the resort 1 out of 6 nights, it was nice to have another option close by.
My only concern about it for a wedding is that I don't think it's as private as other resorts. When we were there, we watched a wedding go on as we were laying at the beach. Not sure if that's the same for other places. Perhaps there is a way around this Need to find out more...
        I hope that helps!

I'll be getting married there in about 15 days! I did a site visit with my sister last summer and we were completely sold after that.

The service is top notch, the rooms are beautiful, and the location is unbeatable.

All my guests are really excited to be staying and celebrating there.

Rhonda is right about the lack of privacy for the wedding ceremony if you have it outside at the gazebo or on the beach. (I'm getting married at the nearby church and doing the cocktail and reception at the beach.) I watched part of a very small wedding ceremony at the gazebo while I was hangout at the resort. I got all teary and congratulated the bride and groom afterwards and lots of people (not part of the wedding like me) were clapping. They were so happy!

I just got married there on March 1st and as I have told everyone, it was AMAZING! I couldn't have imagined it better. The resort is spectacular and you are truly treated like royalty! We were married on the beach at 2pm, cocktails after in the garden until 4pm and then dinner/reception back on the beach at 5pm. I have been to several resorts in Mexico and this one is by far my favorite for many of the same reasons Rhonda listed - AMAZING rooms, good beach, amazing location, etc. I've been twice so far and definitely plan to go back! In fact this is what got me and my FI thinking about a DW. Unfortunately we want kids to come so it was out due to that. Good luck!

We had 24 people attend our wedding in Las Caletas, Mexico on May 24th, 2009!

We all stayed at The Marriott in P.V., and Honeymooned at The Royal Plantation in Ochos Rios, Jamaica!
