Decisions are the worst!

Recommended Posts

I never thought I was this picky until I started planning this wedding! Iâ€ve spent the past week (at work, shhh) researching every resort in the Cancun/RM area and comparing them to a few aspects I want my wedding to have…easy right? Wrong! Is it possible that there is not a single hotel in Mexico that meets my standards? I know that I am not that much of a pain in the a**! Iâ€m hoping there are some holes in my research. When I turn to my family and friends for advice they donâ€t see anything wrong with any of the hotels, so now Iâ€m turning to you guys – the experts.

Here are my musts…MUST

-be all-inclusive

-allow children

-be on the beach

-not be one of the mega hotels where you have to take a golf cart around

-be reasonably priced (preferably under $250/night in November)

-not be more than 45 minutes from the airport

Hereâ€s what I really, really want it to have

-several (4 or more) different restaurants (preferably no reservations required)

-good nightlife at the hotel…preferably a couple different bars with one that stays open into the night...maybe even a sports bar!

-within walking distance (or at least a really short cab ride) of shopping and other things to do

-a great pool with a swim up bar

-good food

-fun staff

-nice rooms

-golf nearby

As far as the wedding goes…Iâ€d like to have the ceremony outside maybe on the beach followed by a private reception for about 40 guests with dinner and dancing.

In my opinion, youâ€re going to spend your days laying out, drinking, and eating, with a little shopping thrown into the mix. And your nights partying and drinking more…so those are all of the things I want to be great. Is this really too much to ask or does a place like this exist?

I hope this helps.........I am getting married at Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort in Cancun- it is about 30-45 minutes away from the airport and it has 13 different restaurants. They allow children, have a special childrens place to go to and a day camp for the kids. But it is large. What we did is request to have our family all put in around the same spot of the hotel so we didn't have to wander around looking for each other. So our rooms are going to be close together - it is just getting to the pool/restaurants and everything - but the way I understand it is that there is a pool everywhere no matter where you are - and there is at least 1 swim up bar that I know of - maybe more - Anyways I hope that helps a little bit!! Good Luck!

You just described Dreams Cancun! We wanted all of those things too. We wanted our nieces and nephews to join us...guess what kids are free with paying adults, sweet!! They have a dolphinerium on the property where you can swim with the dolphins. It's all inclusive. The wedding gazebo is breathtaking with the carribean sea splashing up behind you. Here is the link to the resort. I did the comparison thing too, I wrote out rankings on trip advisor and all of that. You deserve to have the best place for the day of your dreams, you should be picky!!

Picking the resort is the toughest decision you will have to make. I drove myself crazy trying to pick a resort that I thought would please everyone. I put a lot of pressure on myself but turns out that most people would of been happy with whatever I picked. So don't stress yourself out when you pick the right place you'll know.

Picking a resort is really tough. Something you will have to consider when you say you don't want a very large resort is that if it's not big, it probably won't be able to have nearly as my restaurants or bars.

What kind of places have you looked at and what was the "ick" point of each one?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
