I sent a picture of what I wanted to Adrianna (co-ordinator) and she said she would get them for me. They weren't exactly what I asked for, but I still liked them. There was also an additional charge for the centerpieces, sorry, i don't remember the cost. If you need to know, let me know and I'll dig through my stuff for you.

Wind? What wind? The day and night was absolutely gorgeous. I didn't even consider a possible wind problem when I chose a beach reception. My wedding was at the end of hurricane season and I had no problems at all.

This might be a silly question - but are there any free wedding packages at the Riu Palace Cabo?? I can't seem to see one on the site. I like the idea of going with a free package and customizing.

Also, any leads and rates on a great photographer??

Thanks ladies!

Nadia,

They don't have a free wedding package. Their least expensive one is their Classic package:

The Classic Wedding Package 2008 includes:

* On-site wedding coordinator to help plan the event

* Classic Decoration set up for the ceremony location for 10 people

* CD or recorded music during the wedding ceremony

* Reception dinner for the wedding group at one of our specialty restaurants

* Wedding cake up to 10 people

* Surprise spa gift

* Ten percent discount on all spa services for the bride and the groom (restrictions apply)

* Minister/Judge service & wedding certificate are included

* Witnesses if required

The Classic Wedding Package applies only to parties of 10 wedding guests or less.

In order to have a wedding at our RIU Hotels & Resorts, the couple and the 80 percent of the total amount of the wedding guests must stay at the hotel where the wedding will be performed. This is a strict Riu policy we must follow.

**Please be aware that before booking your wedding you must read our Frequent Questions.

This package is valid from January 1st 2008 – December 31st, 2008

Mexico - Los Cabos

Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas

Cabo was once a calm town of fishermen and a meeting point for pirates. In the coasts of the Pacific and the Cortez Sea there are countless coves and miles of deserted beaches. In the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas you will discover a full range of facilities and services to guarantee that your wedding will be a memorable occasion.

Civil Wedding 950,00USD |

Thanks for your reply!

We already have more then ten guests, but I'd much rather customize the classic package then take the royal - is this a possibility??

Another question - is the San Jose Terrace available for a semi-private reception? I am not so thrilled about all these hidden charges at the Riu! I'm scared they'll charge me $500 to take an extra breath on that resort LOL.

From what I've been told, the number of guests you have determines the package you have to get. I was considering customizing also, but I was told that I had to get the caprice pkg based on the number of people. Does anyone have any idea of how many guests a gazebo ceremony can accommodate??

I've read in other threads and just from other brides who have gotten married in Mexico at various resorts that if you have a large group the hotel "recommends" the you have a private event because the get paid extra for it but if you have 40 and the San Jose Terrace can only accommodate 40 people than you obviously have the entire area regardless if you choose a semi private event. I was told to just do semi private because most people vacationing don't want to be seated near a rowdy reception and in most cases you might have a few on lookers but your event is mostly private regardless if you pay for it or not. I think it just depends on the size of your group. The larger your group, the easier it is to get away with that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
