Just wanted to know how you coaxed Juan for your pictures. My wedding was at the beginning of November and I have been waiting patiently not emailing him or bugging him about the pictures. I was sure that I would receive them within the 3 month timeframe after all his recent issues. Well I emailed yesterday just politely checking in and stating that he still has 1.5 weeks and he replied basically that he doesn't know when they will be done but he is close - which to me interprets that They will be late because I haven't even looked at them. I've been waiting for the pictures to print some and send out with my thank you cards and now I'm feeling guilty because I am waiting so long and people may think I'm ungrateful!

Hi Tammy,

And no I didn't ask Juan for one picture. I was expecting to receive them in the next 2 weeks so I thought I could wait. I will email and ask him for just one. I just didn't want to bother him because I can only imagine how many others email him everyday to check on their pictures and ask for teasers. I just thought after he didn't give Nicole a teaser that he wouldn't do that anymore....but you are right and I will ask him for just one. Poor guy must still be so so so busy!

I'm getting married in Oct 08 at the Riu Palace in Cabo, so we can compare notes!! I had a friend that got married at the Riu in Cancun and she said that the reception that is included is semi private. She said that they were basically off by themselves and didn't even notice anybody else around. She recommended that I not pay the additional $500. I'm still trying to figure out the reception details though. Does anyone know if they are still allowing bonfires?

For what I've read here, they're not allowing anymore Bonfires... But, for what I know, as long as the Hotel pays the fee of the bonfire and compromises to leave all nice and clean, the goverment authorizes them to do it.

And I gotta say, the bonfires I saw at RIU, from Sept 06 until Sept 07 were amazing, a huge pit were Your guests could sit and enjoy the fire.

I am getting married at the Gazebo, then I am having my cocktail hour in the English Garden. Our Reception will be in the ballroom. I am hiring Oxten.tv to come and decorate the ballroom. I like the idea of an outside wedding too, my fiance and I are still deciding.

Sorry maybe I didn't explain myself well. The cost of the private reception site was $500. The cost of food was separate - we had the choice of several menus starting at $35/plate. The center pieces & pink sashes were also an extra cost. I can't remember the price of the center piece but I think the sashes were $5/chair.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
