We're going to try and put nips in our OOT bags, too, but might just do bottles of beer. I've been to the Walmart down there, but can't remember if I saw nips.

I def think, though, that buying it down there is a much better idea. Just imagine the nips breaking in your luggage!

I'll be down in PV for our wedding at the end of Feb and will try and fill you in when I return!

I found mini Jose Cuervo bottles at Bevmo for $2.49. I want these as my wedding favors. And want to try and have them personalized. Have any of the girls here had them for their wedding and/or had them personalized? If so, can you post a picture of there.

Thanks,

Brandy

We ended up buying our mini tequila bottles at a tequila tasting shop up from the "flea market." It was great because we got to taste test before we decided on one. We really like the almond tequila so we purchased 8 mini bottles as favors for the men (for the non-drinkers, we figured it was so good that even the women would like it.) They were a really big hit and many drank them the night of the wedding even though it was an open bar.

You can see them here:

I believe we paid $10 per 250 ml bottle. We probably could have found something cheaper but we didn't want to have a bad tequila and we didn't do much shopping around either.

Oh Cool. Yeah, maybe i should look into going to the flea market...i'm sure i can find some there. The table set up you have in the pic, was that like a table for only the bridal party to take the shots from? A friend of my said she seen that at a wedding before. The groom purchased tequila for the bridal party to take shots with he and his new wife.

No, that table was for the favors for the men. I didn't do a seating chart and allowed people to sit wherever they wanted. I had a table of favors set up, but the day of the wedding I forgot to pack the ladies. Unfortunately we just had a table of favors for the men.

I tried to find tequila in the flea market but all we could find was novelty type bottles- like little clay people with their butts hanging out molded on the bottle, etc. We just went down the street and found a tequila testing store- this one was not a timeshare ploy. They actually sold tequila without a speech.

You can find cheaper tequila everywhere- like actual liquor stores. We wanted to buy a really nice tequila so they would enjoy it. Not just something to use as a keepsake and never drink because it's a horrible tequila.

I would personally purchase the tequila there so you don't have to worry about them getting broke. We brought back several bottles of tequila and when were collecting our luggage we smelt tequila really bad. Fortunately, it wasn't our suitcase but someone elses. I imagine it broke. Thankfully, ours made it, but one did kinda leak from pressure change I believe. It didn't get on anything.

Ahhh, another good reason to pack a few gallon size zip-loc bags :) In the baggage office here we get WAY too many tequila soaked bags. And wine, too, from people coming from San Jose and Santa Rosa, CA. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
