Hi everyone! I've been reading a ton of mixed reviews about weddings at the Riu Palace in Cabo. I'm not expecting the Ritz Carlton or anything but I do want the services to be high qualitly. If anyone has had or is planning their wedding at the Riu Palace in Cabo (within recent months, or in upcoming months ahead) please send any info you can my way!

I've been in touch with Daniela the wedding coordinator over the last few days and so far, so good. She's been very responsive and helpful.

THANKS!!!!

... I agree. The Riu is very nice. The property is HUGE (think Las Vegas on a beach) so even if there is more than one wedding going on at a time, you probably won't see the other bride.. Also... as an "all inclusive" it has the best food going. Yes, you can get a hamburger or hotdog, etc... but the main dining room is awesome! White linen tablecloths, great service. Once, after shooting a wedding there, I went to the main dining room for a late snack... they kept throwing lobster tails at me... what a great life!!

I was there in August and I had a great time. I did notice that some people were complaining about their rooms because they did not get the room they requested. We did not have a problem. The food was great and yes there is so much food. When they say all inclusive, they mean all inclusive. We are getting married in July at the Riu. We will have 50 guests coming to our wedding. There are nicer places to have your wedding in Cabo, but I liked that the Riu is an all inclusive and is very big. My fiance and I went to see Dreams and it is very beautiful, but it was a little to quiet for our crowd. The reception must end at 10:00 too. At the Riu it ends at 11:00pm. Some people have positive things to say abou the Riu and some people have negative things to say, but I am being positive and I am just hoping that everything goes the way it is supposed to. Daniela, the wedding coordinator, has been very responsive and has gotten back to me quickly.

Wow! I am getting married at Riu Palace in September too. I have had the same experience...reading mixed reviews, but everything has gone well so far! Please let me know if there is anything else you know that you think maybe I should know. :)

I am getting married there in May and I have been reading the same mixed reviews! I have been emailing Daniela frequently lately and she is always very responsive to my emails...so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with!

I was married in Oct 07 at the Riu Palace. It was Daniella's 2nd day on the job when I got married so I'm sure you can appreciate how stressed out I was. However, she seemed very organized for just picking up a big work load. My advice to all the Riu brides is also to stay organized- be sure to bring all your emails.

Ask me anything you want and I'll do my best to help.

I was married at the RIU Palace in November 2007 and myself and my guests truly loved the resort. I'm likely not the best judge on quality as this was my first all-inclusive vacation but some of my guests are worldly travellers and they are even talking about going back. I would recommend the resort but did have many issues with Daniela. I will admit that Daniela was extremely responsive but that's where it ended for me. I have noticed that there is another wedding coordinator now at the RIU so hopefully that will help things. Please visit the wedding reviews thread and read my review for all the details (I hope some issues have been ironed out since then)...KACENGG'S RIU PALACE Cabo San Lucas Wedding Review.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
