Does anyone know if they will allow us to go to a grocery or liquor store in town and bring our own stuff in to the resort?

The pina colada sounds delish!
I think its possible we might work for the same company...

Our company trip this year is atlantis and last year was maui

3 years ago it was atlantis as well and I went that year, like everyone else has said, its SUPER expensive.

I know some people went out and bought alcohol and brought it back to there rooms, but I didn't go, so I'm not sure how far the stores were.

The place is HUGE!!! (When we looked at the resort map, we were thoroughly overwhelmed!) There are pools, beaches, waterslides, lazy rivers, etc. galore! Just pick a comfortable spot and chill real hard! (Have you visited the Atlantis website? Very cool.)

That is crazy! They did do the Atlantis before but I think it was a good 5 or 6 years ago. Two years ago was Cabo (that was when FI and I fell in love with the location), before that Puerto Rico, before that Cancun I think...I wasn't there then.

I know the owner of TI also owns some other companies maybe you work for one of them?

So anyway we'll be at the Atlantis in March, maybe I'll see ya there!

There are places to eat and drink outside the Atlantis within walking distance. That will definately save you money. All the places within the resort are expensive. Although the breakfast buffet was excellent. But I wouldn't do it every day.

I don't think you'll have a problem buying stuff and bringing it back to your room. Problem is the place is so big, it's not like you can run from the pool to your room for a refill.

Senor Frogs is right across the bay from Paradise Island. That's fun for lunch or dinner. Take the ferry over to the Cable Beach side and save some money on the taxis. It only runs during the day and costs a few dollars (which is fine because I woudln't recommend doing it at night anyway).

Atlantis is pretty cool, it is expensive. I would recommend taking a bag of snacks and drinks if you can. Its crazy expensive even in the small stores off the resort. I was there in April 2005. The new section was not built yet when i was there. The on site pools are nice, i didnt think the beach was that nice. We stayed at the pools. There are places to eat and shop within walking distance of the resort too. There might be an all inclusive deal there now, i am not sure..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
