Any 1 worried their FI wont like the dress ?!

Recommended Posts

Hi peeps,

My FI and I were looking through some wedding mags last night and he was trying to get an idea of what my dress is like ! He hates not knowing, but I've told him its tough! Anyway he pointed out a few that was similar to mine and called them boring because I've gone for something light and simple, I think hes expecting the big fairytail dress, I hope he's not disssapointed, What do you think ? Anyone else had the same problem? HEEEELP !!! (I've tried to attach a pic but not quite sure how to do it ?)

Hi Jodey!

I'd suggest telling him you're going for the elegant/sleek look rather than princess.

I'm probably in the other direction - FI wants to go very casual... even mentioned wearing (tailored) shorts to the wedding.

He keeps showing me pictures of plain, white cotton dresses.

Um. Hello? I'm getting married here?? I will look like a bride, and he will like it (or deal).

I tried explaining to him last night that its a wedding, and even if we tell people its casual, if I wear a plain white dress, guests are going to be dressed better than I am. LOL!

Lucky you ! I think it because if I was getting married over here I think I would have gone for something toyally different but I want to be comfortable, I don't want anything too heavy, I'm sure he will like it but I think he will be suprised at my choice that is all, we'll see.....

He is going to LOVE it b/c YOU are wearing it! smile117.gif

My dress is much more traditional than I expected to wear -- only b/c that's what gave me the WOW factor when I was trying them on! The beachier DW dresses just didn't look right on me, but I couldn't be happier with my choice!

I totally agree ! I was looking at some dresses that were almost like nighties, but figured it wouldn't feel special enough, don't get me wrong, it has a beautiful train but very simple, no sparkles but thats were I can hopfully do more with jewelry ect...

Thanks Tammy B, I like your style! LOL
I think I'm just panicing, I was even thinking of going back to the shop and trying some different dresses on as although I have put the deposit down I don't think anything has been done yet, I mean I havn't had my first fitting yet as its still so far away, the lady did warn me that it was a little early to be deciding incase I change my mind, How stupid would I look if I went back now and changed my mind !! ?? I don't know... I love the dress so I guess I will stick with it ?

If YOU love it, you should definitely stick with it. Your FI will think you look beautiful no matter what!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
