the reality is setting in! We got our first wedding gift last week & that made it feel so close.

I think we are going to try to do our paperwork day on may 21st so I'm only a month away from being a married lady! Are you getting married legally before you head to jamaica?

We're just going to get married there. With our resort to use the wedding services for free we had to either get married for $200 or do a vow-renewal for $150. So it's not really a "free"wedding.

I'm trying to get all of my stuff organized into the planning blogs.

I still need to:

Get AHR heeled shoes.

Pray my dress gets here early. It's not supposed to be in until May 25th!

Order the GM suits

Make OOT CDs

Finalize ceremony & ceremony music

I really think that is it for the actual wedding. Our AHR is a month later and I still have some stuff to do for it but I'm not even focusing on that right now.

We are saving about $1000 to do a symbolic ceremony at our hotel so we decided to do it that way. it also allowed us to reserve our date much earlier & personalize the ceremony. I'm excited about paperwork day now, so I'm glad we went with that option.

I believe in jamaica it was easier to make it legal. And it looks like there was only a $50 difference at your hotel. Much less drastic than mine.

My 1 month to go list!!!!! I've started to feel pressure to get things done for the first time. My list was making me feel a little overwhelmed. I found it helped to break my list up into weekends. When I look at my to do list that way it's really managable. I tried to plan it so I'm not very busy the weekends before I go.

I wrapped a black ribbon around the handles incase the color would rub off. It wasn't a problem when I was handeling normally, but if hands are sweaty a little color can come off.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
