I know the regular search is not working well but I know there are some reviews on moon palace, I think April got married there, MsMaze.

She doesn't sign on often but you could PM her questions.

Try the advanced search and you should be able to find some info.

Hi!! You are getting married only 7 days after me! Wonder if we will be there @ the same time?? Anyways I made my own flowers - so now I just have to find a way to bring them ha! And I decided on the smaller cake of the two - hopefully it is good - Everything else is still up in the air which I guess is ok cuz when I talked to our WC she said we pick everything the day we get there! How are you coming along?

We are actually getting the the day after your wedding! How long will you be staying?

So far we've chosen our menu (buffet, as we'll be doing the outside private reception) and that is pretty much it. We know which gazebo we'll be getting married in, where the cocktail reception will be, and where the dinner reception will be. That is pretty much it. Oh, and we are doing the free package but adding the horse & carriage, the mariachi for the cocktail reception and the DJ for the private reception. I sent my WC some pics of centerpieces and am waiting on some pricing, that's pretty much it though!

Sounds like you have a lot done already - I am still SO torn between paying for a reception or just going to the dinner - I REALLY want to have a dance w/ my FI and my dad - so I have like 2 more weeks to decide.........Did it end up being really expensive for you?? We are staying until the 14th so if you are going to be there during then we should meet up somewhere!! Who is your WC?

That would be fun!!

Our WC is Elisa. She has been great so far - very responsive.

I had actually planned on just doing the dinner in the restaurant and when I told my dad that there would be no dancing it looked like he would cry... sooooooo... now we are having a private one :)

The private reception is around $50 pp and I think that we are only going to have about 35-40 people, so it is not cheap, but doable... I am having an issue with paying $1K for a DJ for 40 people, but my dad really is looking forward to dancing... so I figured it is the least we can do!

Who is your WC?

Have you thought about bringing an ipod w/ speakers? I think that is what we are doing for the dancing - Our WC told us that we can find just about anywhere to do an improptu first dance - which might even be better by the beach or in one of the grassy areas - even in the gazebo if there is enough time. My WC is Carolina. Are you doing your private reception in the ballroom or outside?

I did think about the IPOD but I just was worried that someone would have to be responsible for it... and I think that they quoted that the sound system for it would be around $300 or so. We just figured for the difference to turn it over to someone else to deal with would be worth it.

We are doing the private reception outside on one of the terraces on the Sunrise side.

We wanted to do an outdoor reception and our WC gave us a bunch of different options... so we chose the one we did b/c it was the only covered terrace, which we thought would help with the sun beating down. I also wanted to put it on my invites, so she was able to book it specifically.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
