PPR Brides any luck on discounted hotel rates?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had any luck on discounted hotel rates at the Paradisus Palma Real. I was using my family friend as out travel agent but he is new and it just isnt working out. I also contacted Liberty Travel but the rates the TA sent were pretty much the same as the rates on the PPR website. Kelly suggested we have our TA use GoGo but according to the lady at Liberty GoGo is their sister company and deals mainly in tours.

Our TA used Travel Impressions for our PPC rates.

I can tell you that when we got our PPC group rates, they were cheaper than the resort rates ... but now our group rates are higher than the online rates ... so if the group rates are comparable to the online, I'd go with it b/c it gives you a better chance of not having to worry about anyone being bumped from the resort as well as free upgrades for you as Bride/Groom as well as across the board upgrades for your guests if you have enough rooms booked.

We were upgraded to Royal Service for free and our guests are all getting upgraded based on availability at check-in.

Let me point out, though, that we only got upgraded to Royal Service at no charge b/c we had enough guest rooms booked through our TA that she was able to negotiate it.

So, if you are using a TA, and have a decent amount of rooms booked (we had to have 20) you can likely get the upgrade. But, if you are not using a TA or don't have a good number of rooms booked, you might want to spring for it on your own, just to be on the safe side.

For our PPR honeymoon -- we went ahead and booked the Garden View Royal Service b/c since it is just us ... there's no guarantee we would get upgraded -- and they are very few rooms left during our honeymoon travel dates.

Hope that helps!!!bunny_4.gif

MY TA is getting our room upgraded to Royal Service for free but we have about 12 rooms booked for 7nts and 3 other booked for 4 nts. My TA was from liberty travel, their sale rate at the time was less than the group rate from PPR. but the sale was up on Dec 22nd.

I've been on tours with GoGo before, never heard of them doing travel arrangements besides tours.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a good low price!

I'm not sure what she meant by "only does tours", but Gogo is a full service tour operator that sells through travel agents. They can do individual bookings or groups. So if you find an agent that is using them don't be scared off. They are very reputable and have been around a long time. If you're thinking of someone who just does tours meaning like sightseeing, it must be another company with a similar name.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
