New Cabo Dreams bride needs help!

Hi my name is Jennifer and me and my fiancé Matt are getting married at the Dreams Los Cabos resort on November 15, 2008.

After seeing all the stress and planning my sister (aka Bridezilla) went through with her wedding, I was determined to have a DW and was so excited when I booked Dreams.

Now I'm confused and am hoping that you fellow Dream brides can help... call me naive but I thought going into it with the Ultimate Wedding Package I would basically have everything taken care of. Now Yesica (who seems really sweet) is asking me what I'm be doing for a photographer, florist, decorations, cake, music ect. Isn't that includedhuh.gif What is and what do I need to book myself?? I feel alittle out of mt league!

Please help... I'm from Canada and it is not likely that I will get a chance to do a site vist and get all this figured our in person.

Thank you!!!

Hey Jennifer, welcome to the forum!

According to the Dreams website this is what is included in the Ultimate package:

This package includes:

Services of Judge or Minister

Wedding organization and personalization of our wedding coordinator

Preparation and ironing of the wedding dress and grooms tuxedo/suit

Complimentary room for the groom the night before the wedding (based on availability)

Personal dressing assistant

Use of the wedding gazebo located in a romantic setting

Bride’s bouquet

Two boutonnieres and corsages for witnesses

Special Gold Wedding Dinner party (for 20 guests staying at the hotel)

Natural floral centerpiece for bride and groom’s dinner table

Natural floral centerpiece for ceremonial table

Wedding cake and sparkling wine for 20 guests

One hour Gold Cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres (for 20 guests staying at the hotel)

Special turn down service

Bride’s hairstyling for ceremony

Make-up application for bride

15% discount on all Spa treatments (Products not included)

50 full color photos and wedding album

Honeymoon Package

Late check-out for bride and groom (based on availability)

Gazebo décor - chairs with white covers, ceremonial table & red carpeted walkway

Live Mexican music trio (1 set)

Video of the ceremony (30 min. DVD edited)

Choice from either a Swedish massage, European facial or Salt Glow Body Scrub for two

So, it looks like there are some flowers included but maybe not for the whole ceremony. That's probably what she is referring to, as well as any other decorations you might want.

It seems there is a cake included as well so you might want to ask her about that. There are some brides that want to do their own thing about cakes though.

It does mention 50 photos and photo album but according to their website, photo packages are extra. I'd ask her exactly what's included. You may want to consider using a non-resort photographer though as typically the photo packages that resorts have, don't have that much to offer and the photos are typically more traditional. It all depends on what want with your photos. There are some very talented local photographers that many brides here have hired, and many brides will fly in a photographer they really like from the U.S. That may seem like an expensive option, but many times you can get more for your money even with the cost of travel. Just make sure you check out all your options and see what the resort has to offer, as well as local, and non-local photographers offer.

Good luck and happy planning!!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your engagement! I'm a recent Dreams bride.. we did everything a'la carte because we chose to book many vendors on our own.. I know what you mean about it being confusing.. we had the idea that we'd just pick a package and show up but we wanted to make our wedding more personal with small details. I'm glad we did it the way we did. You can check out my review..link is on bottom of my siggy.

Jonathan is right.. have Yessica clarify exactly what's included. Keep your emails simple. I found that was the best way to get answers to your questions. Don't freak if it takes awhile to hear back.. some vendors are truly on "Mexican time".

You have plenty of time and truthfully if you wanted to make all your wedding decisions when you get to Mexico.. everything will still turn out perfect!

How many guests are you expecting?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
