Large wedding venue in Playa Del Carmen

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow brides,

I have been speaking to many of the beautiful hotels and beach clubs in Playa Del Carmen and I am excited to go and visit them.  I wanted to see if any of you have had a larger wedding or know of a place that can accommodate 150-200 people.  I have been speaking with the Grand Coral Beach Club, Blue Venado, Wicky's and Banyan Tree.  They have been wonderful.  I am wondering if there are any other places out there that can host a larger party.  Most of the other hotels can accommodate 100- 150.  We are looking for a hotel that is NOT all inclusive, on the beach, and with lots of great activities for our guests to do while we are there for the weekend.

Thank you for your help!!

Hello sconrad425,

We have a coordination, catering and decor company based in Playa del Carmen since 6 years ago, and we do a lot of weddings for 200-600 people, so we do know lots of locations that can easily hold 200 people or more.

Please let us know whenever you are here in Playa so we can meet and take you to this locations or you can PM me or write me an email at info@yazmindelamora.com so we can coordinate an appointment for meeting you or if you prefer for a site inspection tour.

Attached please find one of our 180 people theme wedding Alice in wonderland and another that we did in Grand Coral Golf Club for 150 people.

Best Regards,

I chose Grand Coral over Kool for two reasons:

1 - even though I didn't visit to verify, I got the impression that at Kool all the parts of the reception were a bit more spread out.  Like you eat in one area and dance floor isn't right next to it.  I really wanted every table to be able to see the dance floor because I think I'll have some older family coming who aren't going to dance and appreciate that.

2 - Grand Coral has and option to rent out the venue and bring in your own caterer.  I'm working with a wedding coordinator and she had provided me some budgets and that was much cheaper than getting a facility and catering in one.

I highly recommend a wedding coordinator if going off site.  Mine has already been able to offer suggestions like getting the alcohol directly from a distributer which has saved a lot.

Hello sconrad425,

As a wedding planner in the Riviera Maya, I am happy to tell you that Playa del carmen offers quite lots of option for large groups, my suggestion is why not try rent out a private villa for a day to host your wedding.  Feel free to ask for advice or anymore information and we will be happy to help. weddingsinplayadelcarmen@gmail.com

Also check out this video below of wedding we did at a private villa.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
